For this one, keep in mind the crafting system is pretty much just like FFXI.

It's cooking analogy time! :D

The trend of consumers in general wanting instant gratification has been rising for quite some time now. Just look at the rise of 24-hour convenience stores and fastfood chains. Of course this has eventually given rise to reactionary movements like the slow-food culture.

I know where I stand-- slow-food all the fucking way.

That's not to say fastfood doesn't have a rightful place. Not everyone want to sit down for an extended amount of time, but just want quick satisfaction. Neither style is really correct or superior, and not everyone can appreciate both styles.

What really irks me though, is when people expect everything to follow the same formula, or it's just fundamentally flawed in their eyes. To stay with the cooking analogy, it's like showing up at a michelin star restaurant expecting a meal delivered in 2 minutes, and then raging over it being the worst thing ever because it took 20 minutes and the portion was too small.

I loved the posts about ppl not being able to enter the city, since the guards at the Portgate wont let them through saying that ships are not going atm.

I am starting recruiting for a FF14 LS with a friend of mine and i had somebody on FF11 telling me that hed love to play the beta, but he cant get into the city

LOL... umm it'll take a bit for all of them to come out, but I already have an Excel Spread sheet ready for it... And most the BS recipies till Iron in it, but those won't be valid past beta anywho, but they will be close enough.

Ok so like many of you spent all of yesterday and all night downloading that stupid patch witch downloads stupidly slow. Any other time i can download a 3gig file in 30 mins or less but noooo square dont actually seed there own patchs. Anyway i wake up 8am and its just about to finish patching WOOOT WOOT! So i log in and start playing <---well chuffed. So i figure hmm bit jerky ill turn the grphics down abit so exit the game turn down the graphics and go to log back in i get an error on log in screen <-----OH NOES!. Hmm i think to myself and go back to config to change settings back to how they was b4 only to still get the same error. So im like hmm wtf is going on. So i figure i best reinstall the game ill just go check the patch folder so i can copy it then paste it back later after reinstall ONLY TO FIND THE PATCH FOLDER IS EMPTY! OMFG!<------Close to Tears. Where did the patch go and why did it delete itself after i loged off and changed a few graphics settings who know's.

Anywho seems like im back to square<-----(lol squeare) one where im gonna have to spend another day and night updating the client oh joy i thought to myself and sudenly remembered how anoying time consuming it was just installing and updating FF11 was . So rather than go through all that time and effort again that was previously wasted i came up with a great idea!<------WOot Great Idea

Yeah, some people they let in seem to have a severe misunderstanding of the word "Beta", while I'm sat out in the cold, despite 15+ years of MMO experience, including stints as a Beta tester on other games.

I bet a lot of them are pissed when they learn they can't bring their characters over to retail, saying how lame it is they don't get a head start when they've spent so much time beta testing.
