Need a little help with repairing computer

So I recently bought a new computer and I guess in the shipping process it got banged around a little because there is a bolt loose on the cpu cooler. I tried to tighten it back up but the bolt has a circle head with no grooves or anything on top, which makes it difficult to hold in place. I'm guessing the nut or bolt or both are stripped because even trying to hold the bolt head and bottom in place while attempting to screw the nut I can't get it to tighten. I have tried to hold both the nut and bolt in place and tighten the other but it doesn't seem to be working. It would probably be easy if the bolt wasn't flat and circle.

I can obviously send it back to the company and get it repaired for free, but they said it could take like two weeks or so which is retarded. I am wondering if anyone knows a way to fix this, that I haven't thought of or somewhere I can take this to fix it for really cheap(live in MD near DC/VA). The two places I called both wanted like $60, which seems ridiculous for what is probably one loose bolt/nut.

Thanks for any help. I tried to google a little but I didn't really find anything helpful and the repair guys I talked to just said to ship it back.

CPU Cooler is a Coolermaster V8 btw on an i7 chip.

Pic of cpu cooler. Loose bolt is bottom right in pic.

Don't know if you've read this:

    http://www.overclock.net/air-cooling...-problems.html

Seems like the screws operate in reverse fashion (right is loose, left is tight).

Can you not get the screws to move at all? Or just not tighten?

that's weird... I couldn't get it to screw at all though, both the nut and bolt would move together, even while trying to hold one in place. It wouldn't tighten or loosen at all though. I guess I'll see if it's just backwards though.

yea, that didn't do anything, lol. No clue why someone would make a circle bolt/screw with no grooves on top.

As much as it sucks if it was a pre-build you paid alot of money for I would send it back.

I know it sucks but if it was a pre-build it's already costing you more than it should >.> I see no reason to help them out since they likely made off like a bandit on the sale!

It's part pre-built, part my own build but I really didn't even get around to installing the parts I bought on the side since it wouldn't boot up. I don't have any experience installing a motherboard/cpu and shit so I looked around and found decent sale to get some of it pre-built. The CPU cooler was free, as well as some other pieces, and apparently they used some retarded parts to mount it.

I was just hoping I could find a quick, cheap way to fix one piece that looks loose instead of waiting two weeks or so to get it back. (especially with SC2 coming out on monday night lol.)

I have that cooler, and it comes with a special tool to screw those bolts in. It kind of looks like a solid thimble with a slit on the top for a screwdriver.

Would have been nice if they sent that with it, lol. I ran over to FedEx and got it in before their final pick-up anyways. Thanks though. I guess I'll call them and have them ship me that piece so I can fix it myself if it happens again.

Maybe you could buy the tool from CM and have it shipped over night?

I am really exhausted from a 14 day @ work and a google search didn't bring much up on the tool but maybe that's an option, idk...

That's exactly what needs to happen. They kept the tool so that you would have to go back to them for warranty service. Don't let them tell you that your warranty is void either, cuz they should've sent that along with all the manuals and river disks for your machine.

Yea, I called them today and told them to send me the tool when they send my computer back. They had already said they would fix it for free, just pissed that I have to wait two weeks to get it back for something so retarded.
