Either way, they'd have to actually visit a doctor to validate any kind of injury, but seeing as how there was no damage, then no one should take their claim seriously.

The case is on file. And he has the officers badge number, who he can use as a witness to there being no damage.

The couple were stupid for calling the police. If they actually wanted to get something from you, they should have just asked for your info and took off. Then they could smash their car and claim anything they wanted.

yeah exactly. Even if you and the people didn't get a police report, the officer still has to file call for service paperwork if he responded to the accident.

Yea you're pretty much in the clear, you got the officer's badge number plus the case number, just give that to your insurance company and tell them the real story and it'll get dropped once they investigate. I hope the people claiming you totaled their car aren't dumb enough to waste money taking this to court.

Seatbelt thing was a jab at Illinois law. Wasn't sure if it's the same where you are from. If the wife was giving road-head, I'm sure there might have been some scratches and possible bruising. Would explain the shitty driving, too.

Have the officer who arrives on scene to call for an ambulance. Then if the other party refuses medical transport or refuses to get checked out, they have to sign a waiver form. That's one way to make sure that you'll have on file, all you have to do is say look; they refused to get checked out by the medics and didn't want to go to the hospital. I'm not responsible if all of a sudden they start experiencing serious injuries, because they would have felt those at the scene.

Good thing they helped call the cop who can probably help you with it. If you wanna fake injuries, get as little witnesses to you not being injured as you can.

I got rear ended a while back. The police report is the best and most valuable piece of information you will have to defend your case. The officer in this case did not fill out a report, so contact him and ask him to write up the condition of the accident. If this does go to court, the officers impartial case of no damage being done to the vehicle will really put a dent in their case.


One question: was the couple elderly at all? Its highly unlikely that they would experience pain like that unless they were elderly or predisposed to some form of back/neck pain.
