It seems like people pick up this game and not other fighting games because they do not how to respect when their opponent could wreck their shit in a short amount of time be it X Factor or Ultra combos.

Currently the sponsored players are in support of this game saying it's amazing with all the changes and blah blah

The reality? game is still the same. Extremely bland. There are still timeouts and run away tactics.

Even, a game like KoF has hype and that game does not reward you getting your ass kicked. So no it's not about that comeback mechanic at all. Even Mortal Kombat has better comebacks.

This game still sucks to watch. there is a reason that even after all it's changes there are more viewers for SF4AE2012 than this at West Coast Rumble and there will be at future tournaments, let me know if this changes.

As far as run away tactics, and timeouts... I haven't seen very many time outs since v2013 and even then it was due to people not knowing the game. Give it time, more strategies of how to play characters and what's safe and what's punishable isn't ingrained into even sponsored player's minds yet.

As far as viewers dropping, fucking duh? Stream monsters are retarded. The major v2013 patch is not even 2 weeks old yet. The game has a stigma, and it's going to take longer than that for people to not immediately write it off and stop watching. Viewers drop after marvel is over if AE is the final game. Same goes for TTT2, KoF, Persona 4, and every other game. Does that make them bad? No, hell I think Persona is a really good game, with an awesome "comeback" mechanic, pretty colors/combos and interesting and unique game system. No one watches that shit, same with KoF (would be nice if matches didn't take 30 minutes though...). No one watched the TTT2 GF yesterday, but it was still hype as hell.

I think i just miss those games with a real comeback actually required skill over a mechanic in the game. KOF, guilty gear, blazblue, mvc2, cvs2, 3rd strike, they all had that hype as fuck skilled comeback gameplay. That's what makes games hype as fuck and fun imo.

There aren't many of us in the Evo thread playing that I am aware of. This isn't like SF where I pop it in and have an invite when friends jump on. I pop this game in and friends are either playing MvC, TTT2, AE or KoF, I think the only person I see playing it is Leroy

SFxT needs work but I still play it somewhat.
I also have a high tolerance for bad games. I played FFXIV from launch till the servers went down.

On the subject of SFxT though, I say get it for cheap if you can like that $8 PC version if you care to play it on PC. Patch still isn't out for PC though is it?

I think its worth playing to see if you like it all on your own because fuck what other people say. You might dig the fuck out of it.


EDIT: I don't know what's funny about that, and yeah it happened a while back when that End of an Era trailer came out. When the servers went down, that video went up. Somewhat classy and would have been REALLY cool if the servers weren't crashing during the event.
But really the only reason they are down is so they can migrate the data to the new version of the game without issues, that shit takes time.

Beta for 2.0 is right around the corner anyway.

I agree. I liked the feel of the game before the patch, I just stopped because no one played it, and there was tons of bullshit to deal with (walking jab is/was stupid).

PC version is playing 1.06 still, 2013 patch is 1.08. No word on when it's coming at all just that "it's coming." A little salty about that purchase..

Hmmmm... tried out PC version cause it's $8... the netcode seems a ton better than xbox 360 O_O

If I ever play it it will probably be on PC (whenever the DLC comes out)

I had problems playing with dobu on pc, kept getting huge rollbacks. Wouldn't happen every match but was more than it should. Anyone know if theres a setting for netplay like GGPO? Or if update 1.07/8 fixes that?
