Why do you keep playing the game?
Ryu can cr. short, cr. jab, cr. mp xx hado for every blockstring and it's safe.
Juri can st. lk, st lk, cr. mp, release and it's safe.
Vega can cr. jab cr. jab xx roll, safe
I don't it's possible to be more safe than guile lol.
I'm just saying, you have never ending complaints about the game (which I personally feel aren't really valid, but to each his own), so then why continue to play it? I don't play things I don't find enjoyable or fair.
No, I've played people with white bars, and I use university internet (speed test usually 50-60down and 80 up, can peak at 100d/u). I have no clue why this rolls back so hard lol
Bandwidth means nothing... you have to look at ping times/packet loss/jitter to check your connection quality.
And university internet doesn't mean it's good, just ask Leroy ;o
Most games run perfect in AE, no clue why xt is so much worse. Only like 1/3 games are that bad so it's still "playable" I'll just have to stick to AE to play online lol
I just don't think it's for you. I enjoy watching it and I enjoy playing it/learning more things about combos and stuff like that. I haven't gone online with it yet, but on paper it seems like things seem fair, or at least most of the things you dislike or complained about.![]()
Nah, honestly this game is for total scrubs trying to get into the fighting game scene but will never ever fit in in terms of skill-level. Sorry guys, i agree w/ shinebox completely.
LMAO, the most telling part about it are the people that play it.Nah, honestly this game is for total scrubs trying to get into the fighting game scene but will never ever fit in in terms of skill-level. Sorry Liroy, i agree w/ shinebox completely.
The pros that picked it up are good at other fighting games as it is already. You hardly hear of anyone who is just good at SFxT alone., it's not like KoF, TTT2, MK etc where this large mass of new players are coming into the community. The only reason this one has any bleed over from AE/Marvel is because the pros at AE/Marvel are the only ones really giving it a chance (probably because they feel like they have to) they are sponsored players after all and whatever the community plays they somewhat have to.
Not only that, but capcom seems to be caring so much about putting extra $ in the pots of this game, not to mention the 25th anniversary tournament, the pro players are forced tempted to play it. Imagine if the game actually had almost no incentive to play, capcom knew how hopeless the game was from the very start, why not throw in those extra incentives.
*edited* forced is a strong word.
The original launched with great praise too (for about a month) but after awhile people realized they hated it.
Then:
Me: This game is terrible
Others: No, you're terrible
Capcom: We know it's terrible and we are working on it.
Vanilla was terrible.
I think 2013 is definitely workable, in the very least and can definitely have hype moments and good entertainment value. Sponsored players are giving it a go, for the prize money and for the endorsements, but the majority of them seem to be having a lot of fun with it as well. When did we stop playing games for fun? Just saying.
Shine, list your complaints, I'd like to know what they are, besides blockstrings....
-The game freezes or stutters way too much when you connect a hit or block
-The netcode is the worst I have experienced
-Jumping in is a tactic that works
-Pandora has no real comeback potential (15% more damage? You get that from Gems, dont lose your partner and have to kill in 10 secs)
-Timeouts are still a problem
-Tag combos do less damage than some of the combos characters can do without tagging
-invincible reversals get stuffed by meaties instead of trading like they do in other fighting games
-they nerfed everyone's metergain
-Gems
-Ranked matches select random people instead of you picking your opponent
-Combos work completely different when you try them online
-The game even gets laggy offline
-Start up on throws are too slow (you can MP your opponent to stop them)
-Some characters are way too safe (Law, Hwaorang)
-Game rewards mashing too much (Ken, Akuma, Dudley, Asuka) you dont' even have to respect your opponents buttons, just press something quickly before they do
-The Tekken cast is noticeably better than the SF cast overall
Overall the game is a snoozefest to watch too. I would rather watch Marvel, KoF, TTT2 or Persona and I have no idea how to play those games.
What i believe capcom was doing was adding too much to a game to the point where the mechanics are just screwed up all over the place. Only games i've seen succeed w/ this is the Arc System Works games. Gems were the biggest turn off the second they were announced, shit sucked, aside from the garbage online, timeouts still suck, and the game offline is definitely laggy.
Throwing out the online stuff. It's a big deal, especially to me, and that's why I don't really play it except in training mode, but in real offline experience it's irrelevant, as are gems really.
Pandora definitely has comeback potential, but it's got it's own little niche (low on meter, land a hit on the opponent, can kill but have no meter to kill).
Some nerfs were warranted, like rolento, ryu (he got slightly nerfed, no?) and walking jabs and stuff like that.
In all the videos I've watched, I never really noticed timeouts being a problem in the slightest.
Start up on throws are rather slow, but they are extremely powerful in this game compared to SF4. The damage they do is crazy and the removal of red health...
I don't know too much about the reversal stuff, but that seems... odd. They must not be invincible if they get beat by meaties tbh. I mean by definition, it's impossible for them to be invincible if meaties stuff them.
Mashing, idk I wouldn't be able to tell you, but that... doesn't sound right to me. Press something quickly before the other person does? You mean like you're at the end of a block string and you guys are in neutral space, if they mash and you don't mash but stick out a poke, they beat yours? That sounds about right to me. I just feel like, if that's the case, you would see more high level players doing it, even if everything in their previous instincts say to not mash.
I think it's too early to say one is better than the other considering how the metagame hasn't even evolved yet, but going by the earlier "High tiers" of the game, they seem split evenly as far as that is concerned. The combo/juggle system definitely lends itself towards the tekken cast as far as damage is concerned.
