Pandora definitely has comeback potential, but it's got it's own little niche (low on meter, land a hit on the opponent, can kill but have no meter to kill).
Some nerfs were warranted, like rolento, ryu (he got slightly nerfed, no?) and walking jabs and stuff like that.
In all the videos I've watched, I never really noticed timeouts being a problem in the slightest.
Start up on throws are rather slow, but they are extremely powerful in this game compared to SF4. The damage they do is crazy and the removal of red health...
I don't know too much about the reversal stuff, but that seems... odd. They must not be invincible if they get beat by meaties tbh. I mean by definition, it's impossible for them to be invincible if meaties stuff them.
Mashing, idk I wouldn't be able to tell you, but that... doesn't sound right to me. Press something quickly before the other person does? You mean like you're at the end of a block string and you guys are in neutral space, if they mash and you don't mash but stick out a poke, they beat yours? That sounds about right to me. I just feel like, if that's the case, you would see more high level players doing it, even if everything in their previous instincts say to not mash.
I think it's too early to say one is better than the other considering how the metagame hasn't even evolved yet, but going by the earlier "High tiers" of the game, they seem split evenly as far as that is concerned. The combo/juggle system definitely lends itself towards the tekken cast as far as damage is concerned.
Its time to stop posting, bro.

Really, for what? For saying that we should give what is essentially a brand new game some time to grow before writing it off. In a month when no one is playing it again, then sure, I won't say anything. But for now, nearly every place I see people talking about SFXT say they enjoy it except here. Maybe confirmation bias, but whatever. I'll continue to watch it since I enjoy watching it.

I actually meant "Jumping in" which is generally bad (in this game) when you can braindead your way to wins.

Also, Liroy asked for a list. I gave him a list.

-Pandora has no real comeback potential (15% more damage? You get that from Gems, dont lose your partner and have to kill in 10 secs)
    -Timeouts are still a problem
-Tag combos do less damage than some of the combos characters can do without tagging
-invincible reversals get stuffed by meaties instead of trading like they do in other fighting games
    -they nerfed everyone's metergain
    -Gems
-Ranked matches select random people instead of you picking your opponent
-Combos work completely different when you try them online
-The game even gets laggy offline
-Start up on throws are too slow (you can MP your opponent to stop them)
-Some characters are way too safe (Law, Hwaorang)
-Game rewards mashing too much (Ken, Akuma, Dudley, Asuka) you dont' even have to respect your opponents buttons, just press something quickly before they do
-The Tekken cast is noticeably better than the SF cast overall

Overall the game is a snoozefest to watch too. I would rather watch Marvel, KoF, TTT2 or Persona and I have no idea how to play those games.
gonna respond to your list quickly here, while I think the game has improved quite a bit I still think its too early to tell if its truly a great game yet

-so you basically don't like the hit stun / block stun ?
-netcode is decent IMO, you must have never played marvel online
-jumping in is definitely not a tactic that works...especially now that most characters have anti air options, most people don't know how to play this game or have no concept of ground game / footsies which is probably what you are experiencing
-Pandora is not as dramatic as Xfactor or ultras but it definitely can swing a match, it gives you full meter which means you could do maybe a 50-60 percent plus combo or more solo when you would not have been able to in that position without it
    -all games have timeouts
-your point about tag combos doing less is strange to me, the game is about strategically managing your meter and character's health while outputting as much damage in your combos as possible. You even need to consider gem activation on top of all that. Combo selection plus the current state of your meter means you may not to get to do your big bang boom combo all of the time, maybe you're sacrificing to get a character in or whatever.
-not sure about this one but in general you have to block a lot more on wake up this game is pretty honest
    -meter gain change was good
-gems are whatever at this point
    -slightly annoying sure
-completely different? play people with 4 bars only
    -never seen that
-throw people out of rolls, set up your throws better, throw is definitely viable
-some characters are better than others yes
-mashing what? I would say the reward isn't that great if you're just getting a DP or a jab into whatever. True rewards in this game come from out footsieing? someone in neutral
-not that big of a deal I think they are more fun to play

I have to agree that the netcode is sweaty booty, comparing it to Marvel isn't exactly helping it, that just means both are ass online lol.

Agree. My SF4 experience has never had teleporting or full game slowdowns, making it impossible to combo. It may be good if you have a good connection, but it only makes bad connections way way worse than sf4.

Is Asuka x Nina a team that can work? Someone that understands this game help me choose 2 characters lol. I am not playing Ibuki because it messes up my combos in AE.

I still think Asuka is way too much work for the damage...I would say a somewhat easy rule is anyone with a tag-cancelable special that you can confirm into that lasts a long time and doesn't knock down or juggle(think Ken h.tatsu) is great for Nina.

Ideally someone who also doesn't get eaten alive by zoners.

by some meaties not all, and not all the time. Cammy Cr.HP will trade with a wake up DP. the mishima jump ins tend to trade with DPs (but dont all the time and actually loose). And seriously poisons DP is ass compared to ryus or kens, and I can still cleanly beat out alot of the mishima jump ins with it.

Meter gain wasnt nerfed it was actually buffed ON hit and ON block. the only thing that got nerfed was brainless wiff metergain.

Law is mostly safe, but has no invincible reversal without sacrificing meter, and even that reversal isnt that great and be baited.

Throws are 5 Frames, they work fine, set them up correctly, they are risky, but they can reward you with decent dmg.

I just stop here. You dont like the game, thats fine^^

I play this game fine online maybe I'm just lucky? Game seems to have something similar to GGPO where it compensates the frame rate according to the connection to reduce the lag. Wacky stuff can happen below 3 bars but its pretty playable above that for me.

I've been watching PR Rog play it a lot online, and I haven't noticed him lag once.

Marvel is fucking dogshit online. If you are an online Marvel warrior, I feel sorry for you.

This game is just not very forgiving when your Internet is not great, but if you do it plays very nicely.

PR just played a few matches like an hour or two ago where the lag made the game play like absolute dog shit.

I noticed to this too for a few matches it was the case but he did have laggy connections here and there. For some reason everyone I'm playing is very laggy (maybe there are less people in my area playing it? )

this isn't my connection causing it either, I do not have this problem with AE, Marvel or TTT2

    Also LOL Paul glitches @_@

looks to open up potential new combos that shouldn't be possible under normal conditions.

Wait, I don't get it. So you have to input the linked move 1f before you would normally put it for a 1f link, essentially making the link window more lenient for 1f or higher links, and creating a new series of 1f links. Interesting. I wonder how it interacts with plinking.

I dont think its a glitch, its more like intented from capcom, hence why it is much much easier to do links in SFxT. All it does: makeing combos easier. While this allows for new "impossible combos" the timeing for those is very very strict and can leave you open to punish.
