Now wouldn't Tekken vs. Virtual Fighter be a better fit since they both make use of z-axis for side-stepping? That and it'd be a 4-button vs 3-button base to adapt from, rather than SF's 6 buttons.

Virtua Fighter and Tekken are nothing alike, even moreso then Tekken and Street Fighter. Simplest reason why is VF uses a Block button. There's alot more then that but that's the biggest difference.

BOB VS. RUFUS. RUFUS VS. BOB. BOB + RUFUS VS. ???

Truly, 2010-2011 will go down in history as one of the greatest two-year spreads of game releases ever. So.. much good shit coming out between now and the end of 2011.

Paul vs. Guile, who has the more ridiculous haircut? That's the only fight that really matters.

    http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/201...5/sf_x_tekken/

Development on the game began just one or two months prior, said Ono, although they began real discussions about the project with Namco Bandai about one year back. Even prior to this, Ono said, he and Harada had talked about doing something together.
Getting into the game itself, the site asked Ono what we can expect as far as characters go. Ono would only mention the characters who were shown in the demo session: Chun-Li, Ryu, Kazuya and Nina. However, he added that they're currently thinking about putting in the early generation characters from each franchise.

Detailing the gameplay, Ono said that the staff is thinking about making the game 2 on 2. He joked that for someone his age, Marvel vs Cacom's 3 on 3 fights is just too much.

The basics of 8-way lever and 6 button input system won't change. However, Ono said that he'd like to add something that he referred to as an "assist" feature. He said the iPhone version of SFIV has somewhat of an answer to this desire -- a feature that lets players feel that they were able to do tough moves.

Regarding a release time frame, Ono said that the target is to release the game two yeas after its announcement. He expects the next timeframe for a major announcement to be next year's Captivate (a Capcom private event held every April in America). The reason for such an early announcement at Comic-Con was because Capcom wanted to do something for the fans.

Most of Ono's comments with the site concerned just the Capcom side of the tie-up. This version will likely come out first, said Ono.

Development on the two sides are being handled completely separate of one another. In fact, the staff has agreed to not share information between the teams. The Capcom side will be doing their own designs for the Namco Bandai characters, and the Namco Bandai side will be doing their own designs for the Capcom characters. They're also working separately on the gameplay side.

Ono joked that the Namco Bandai team would be none-the-wiser if the Capcom designers made Nina appear in the game naked, and likewise for Chun-Li in the other version. He also joked that they're interested in seeing which version will get rewarded a Platinum score in Famitsu.

"We'd like to challenge one-another in all areas, including sales, and get fans of both series excited," said Ono.

Now that we have a closer look at the gameplay video from today's Street Fighter X Tekken announcement, we can glean some information off of it. Keep in mind this is a VERY early sample of what they might be building, and thing can and will change drastically.

    - The game features a wakeup roll system similar to TvC or MvC3, where you can roll forward or back instead of getting straight up.

    - Kazuya has a move or two that go under/through fireballs

    - The game features chain combos, as you can clearly see Ryu doing Jab Strong Roundhouse then cancelling into his tag-team ultra with Chun.

    - Tag Team Ultras seem like canned animations, similar to Rival Schools team combos.

Well it'll be nice to have a good game that I can forget about for a few year then be presently be surprised to find. There are at least 12 games coming out between now and 2012 that I have to buy, play, and subsequently master. Pushing these gems back isn't that bad, when I think about it.

They obviously wouldn't release this in the same 6-8 month period as MVC3, but they could be ignorant and do so. Ono did say, "When you see this game, you will say, I want to buy that next year!"

At least tekkan and SF both have the same (hold back on the stick to) block system. Honestly, I think that the block button is the main thing holding back a MK vs. SF as far as game engine goes.
Funny thing is, block + back in MK is how you prevent yourself from being thrown out of the block. What I think did it was the retarded run button. Double-tap dash works much better.

Not to mention MK's huge hard-on for dial-a-combos.
