It kind of was. That's why it sold less than half as much in the same amount of time. It's also why Super Street Fighter II didn't sell well on Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis was lowered to $29.99 after three months of release.

This isn't going to happen. At least not in the way you're thinking. SFxT Vanilla is jam packed with stuff now, including [locked] DLC. If anything it'll go the SSF4 -> AE route at year or two down the road adding a only a few fan requested things on a cheaper disc. People knew MvC3 Vanilla was ass for content right out of the gate. People also knew SF4 vanilla would spawn a "Super Edition"-- like Hiro said, this shit has been going on for 20+ years, lol.

SFxT is a legit purchase.
