I disagree, throws are actually quite usefull and you can land them okeish in this game. 6 auto-gem teched throws in 1 round is quiet some damage lost ¬.¬ Not to mention the positioning after a teched throw is not perfect (still not bad) for Cammy.

They all have a 7 frame starting and awful range, the only characters that really benefit from them are ones with good walk > jab pressure or really solid charge cancel block strings. If you were playing someone other than Cammy you'd probably whiff more than what got auto-teched.

Throws are also essential in Cammys cl.st HK SJ cancel crossup LK ----> follow up by jab, another HK or throw. And I dont miss that many throws with Chun-li. For cammy throw assist gems are a fucking catastroph... With no overhead available and the oponent not haveing to worry to tech throw----> there is no reason for him to press buttons ones you are close -----> less counter attacks. Imho it is a big issue

Yeah but that's a biased account, saying it's a 'big issue' because it affects your specific character more than most others, and only does so in casual(mostly online) play doesn't mean it's fundamentally breaking the game lol. There's much worse issues going on than gem shenanigans, even after the 'tournament' patch they're never going to have a place in competitive play so long as the gems you can buy are stronger than gems you can unlock easily for free.

Actually, if I knew they had Throw Tech gems, I'd be going for throws more often just to make them waste meter.

Thats what I did, but you can only do so many throws before you eat a poke into your face from a tekken cast followed by a solo combo which puts them right back up with alot of meter ¬.¬ shits retarded. The problem is the assist throw-gem only costs HALF of a meter block. not 1 entire block only half... with no other penaltys.

it actually affects half of the SF roster ¬.¬. While on some chars this has less of an impact it still has an impact on them.

I did the complete opposite with you lol, I just stopped bothering with tick throws and formed a different strategy. This would be easier if Poison had more mixups and if I remembered to actually use all of Nina's, but I think I've done well without them. If nothing else it just makes me even stronger when I get offline and play properly without gems, throws are just a nice bonus if they're available rather than something I rely on.

If they added auto-tech to SF4 I'd be all kinds of fucked though, lol.

Given the 38 characters available for full play, as well as multiple play modes, SFxT provides great value for all players from day one. While Capcom is sorry that some of its fans are not happy about the chosen method of delivery for the DLC, we believe that this method will provide more flexible and efficient gameplay throughout the game’s lifecycle. There is effectively no distinction between the DLC being “locked” behind the disc and available for unlocking at a later date, or being available through a full download at a later date, other than delivery mechanism.

In terms of legal realities and business planning, Capcom is probably right. DLC is built in such a way that it usually wouldn’t be made in the first place if the business plan didn’t count on making more money from it, on the disc or not. And thanks to how digital rights law works, you’re really not purchasing ownership of everything on the disc anyway.
However, the problem with on-disc DLC is largely about fan perception and good PR, so this justification is likely to only add fuel to the fire. Plus, for a company that’s grown infamous for reviving its Super and Hyper editions lately, having a large roster update ready to roll out on day one may feel like a back door to the same end.
