Also depends on what's getting yelled. I'm pretty sure the Japanese aren't yelling "NIGGA WHUT! GET HYPE! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! CRUNK!!!!" over and over into a mic wayyyyy too close to their mouth and tearing up your speakers each and every time either.

There are plenty of NA commentators that can yell anytime they want and I'd have no problems, because the things that come out of their mouths don't consist of rehashed drivel that a 3-year-old could surpass. Skisonic is simply annoying, and even when he isn't yelling, when you think of all the shit he's pulled in the past (like blowing up on people off-mic because he accuses them of stealing "his" thunder while on mic, like miccing at a tournament is the greatest honor in world history), it simply adds up.

Its like hating a specific NFL commentator, but worse.

Well that's my problem with it as well, since I can understand what they're saying and I know it's stupid I dislike it. But in Japanese I dunno what the fuck is being said, so I'm buying into the only thing I can relate to which is the noise and hype. I'm saying if you could understand Nuki and Kokujin, would you like them as much if they turned out to be just like the american commentators you hate? Not saying they are, since I dunno, but I thought it was interesting the way people respond to them.

1st off, not once ever did I or anyone else say anything of the sort. A common problem with you is that you can't understand what you read. 2ndly, I can understand Japanese or at least the Japanese terms they use to talk about the game enough to understand when they are speaking technical about the game. Really, all I can't understand 'too' well is when Nuki starts to tell stories (which is arguably the best part) but luckily most of that shit is subbed on youtube.

I understand well enough to enjoy Nuki's commentary about the game, as I said before.
I don't understand Nuki well enough when he goes off on a tangent. Yes, I use outside sources to find out what he's saying when he does.

At the end of the day I understand at least 90% of what he's said... I enjoy his commentary. End of story. Get mad about that if you want but that's just what it is.

Oh absolutely. There are two JP commentators off the top of my head that I know I can't stand. This one guy laughs so loud and so high pitched that it sounds like he's crying, and its annoying as hell. At the end of the day, its all the same. People are people, no matter what language they're screaming in. There's a huge difference between yelling and building legitimate hype (Think Seth K with the "Daigo Parry" in 04'), and then the annoying Skisonic shit on the other end.

I understand what they're saying perfectly, and Nuki displays incredible knowledge of the game at every point he commentates. When he's with Vanao on the mic, Vanao can recall the frame data on just about any move in the game. Kokujin is mostly a joker but he's really fun to listen to and is a pretty well-known trash talker in the .jp 3S scene. To be honest they do spend a lot of time in that video not discussing the matches, but it's the danisen, and not even a top-3 rank danisen ranking battle, which means the stakes aren't super-high. On the other hand, they talk about other players and the 3S scene in general when they're not play-by-playing the games. If you listen (and comprehend) any of Nuki's other casts he's definitely a good play by play guy (helps that Japanese is efficient with its syllables) who hypes the shit out of all the best moments of the game and doesn't waste time with hyperbole the way a lot of American casters do; see 'godlike' at any Guard Crush or EVO qualifiers.
