Im not really sure but i recall reading that those stat conversions were for max level or something. to make it easier switching from caster to melee

Works only when used on a non-conjurer class?
That's how the affinity traits function, afaik.
Trying to use it on Marauder 10 and Traum 11 - no difference - it says optimal rank 20 but something SHOULD change... right?![]()
I wanna know what is your conj/phys lv and how much hp/mp you got
Wanna know if I'm far benhind or if i'm ok
im Conj20/phys26 and got 645 HP (Lalafell)

Greetings,
I've been playing since CE launch and would like to add a few things. (Sorry, this post is sort of long.)
Leves & Parties
I've noticed since the buff patch that skill points have really taken a dip in party play. Since then, I have only been partying for leves with some friends and usually get 0-300 skill points per leve, because I am mainly curing and buffing. While this isn't very encouraging, I don't mind doing it, since I see leves as a gil source and not a skill source.
Solo EXP
For the past few levels ( 16-18 ), I have been grinding Dodos and Bee Swarms in Limsa. This is mainly because they both drop Lightning Shards and Crystals, which I am also using for crafting. I average about 100-175 skill points per kill on the Dodos, and a little less on the Bee Swarms.
My strategy is very simple; all I do is use Spirit Dart and Cure myself when my HP is low. This makes for very repetitive (albeit easy and relaxing) gameplay, yet it is something I prefer because I can easily watch some shows and documentaries while I grind, paying very little attention to the screen. I used to cast Shock Spikes and other buffs, but have found them to be a waste of time in the long run. They don't last long enough to warrant casting on such easy mobs, and the damage inflicted with Shock Spikes would only lessen the amount of hits I can get in before the mob dies. Furthermore, I no longer bother using Radiance, due to its horrible accuracy and lengthy ability time. I find that I average out to be more efficient sticking purely to Spirit Dart.
Stat Spread & Other
I have stopped putting points into anything other than VIT and MND. The reasoning for this is simple - I stopped using offensive nukes some time ago. I used to have many points into PIE and INT, and my elemental attributes split only between two elements, but was dissatisfied with the constant resists and amount of time that it takes to cast spells in comparison to just spamming Spirit Dart. The only spells I normally use are Cures and buffs, acting as a support mage, so the boost in cures (doing about 245 with Cure 1 at rank 18/level 25) is nice. I am skeptical of the fact that PIE or DEX have any effect on Spirit Dart accuracy, for I have no extra points in either now and still have about 80% accuracy on all mobs. (From what I've been hearing from some melee friends, this is MUCH better than what they've been experiencing, even with points into DEX and +Acc gear). On a side note - I've never run out of MP. The 10 minute timer on Tranquility has been enough to keep me up, probably due to Cure being fairly inexpensive.
Another topic - durability. I honestly find that when my weapon is between 10%-49% durability, I do the best in terms of skill ups. The minor cut in damage is beneficial, making the fights last longer. While grinding, I worked my staff all the way down to 1/161k durablity and only noticed a decrease (in numbers, not frequency) on skill ups within about the last 10%.
And for those who have not done it yet - leveling Thaumatuge to 10 is nice for Punishing Barbs. It won't really help you while grinding, but in a tough fight it will destroy your opponent. Beware though - when you level a class to 10, you have the potential of finding that class's marks as a quest reward for your level 20 leves. I've been frustrated by the amount of quests that have offered these, seeing as I have no current interest in Thaumaturge and would much rather have Conjurer marks.
Thanks, and sorry for the long post.
TL;DR:
Party exp has been sucking, I find solo exp using purely Spirit Dart/Cures to be the best, I only pour stats into VIT and MND now, durability only heavily nerfs skill ups under 10%, and Punishing Barbs from Thaumaturge is a valuable asset.
Hope this helps!
If you do leves that have mob groups try to get 1 AOE nuke in. Huge skillups if it procs.
vit and mnd is the way to go
Party play is still the best way to get skill ups, just not in leves. Duoing or Trioing heal botting is still very fast exp and pretty mindless, just spam Sac and Cure back to back on the person taking damage. Get 200-300 skill a mob, and more fun.
Leves are actually pretty good if you don't mainheal, so avoid those guildleve parties where everyone except you is a melee like the plague.
On even another note some guildleve Doe enemies seem to be "broken" - broken in a good way as they seem to give enormous amounts of EXP each time. Had a 430 Class EXP on one today.

CONJURERS! HAVE WE BEEN REDEEMED? IS REDEMPTION OURS?
SPEAK, MY BRETHREN~!
Not yet but I did actually get some decent skill ups during 2 leves this morning for the first time in quite a while.
What would they have changed to redeem us? You guys talking about the party skill bug?
Party skill bug, yes, or, even better, grouping up all skill gains by all party members, then distributing them at the end of the fight, so we actually gain skill points for keeping people alive instead of being forced to dart/nuke while our allies get their shit rocked.
We already did though, we got healing up to 500 pts for each person we healed. Not sure how things have changed. The only thing that changes is we can get better skill for Spirit darting without worrying about the bug (the bug was that only 2 people could get combat skill off a MOB, so if you were just healing you were fine).
Does anyone know if you can buy FastCast at 20? Or is it 30? Also is it a permanent buff or just something like SpiritBind which lasts 30s?
Just bought fastcast mainly because the ws one seem useless atm, its a trait so allway active says optimal 30 but can equip at 22 not tried it out yet will post info later.
edit: quick eye ball test at 22 shows it is active
