I just had a party with a CON who would repeteadly spam cures while using a sort of "HP cheat" by removing and re-equipping HP items like Copper Wristlets.
Whenever skill ups proc'd on heals I would get around 90ish SP so I assume he got the same.
Mobs were hitting really hard so the curespam was welcome anyway.

I thought this could work: find a decently strong mob that spams aoe attacks, bring as many people as possible, spam cures till you cap SP and then kill it. I don't think this could be considered cheating because you're actually taking damage and killing stuff.

No, Bad, That's what the whole mass banning was about.

It's less abusive because of SP cap, but I still wouldn't risk it.

All right then let's assume you're really fighting something (that can actually kill you) that spams aoe attacks, you and your party members enjoy gearswapping and your cures net a lot of SP.

Would I have to choose between not joining a party with more than 4-5 people/not aoe curing/not gearswapping and risking SE's banhammer? It's like asking FFXI players not to exp with BRD+COR and not gearswapping at all (lol).

I thought the guildleve exploit wasn't acceptable because you could just pop Guardian's Favor and put the difficulty on 1 star, effectively making the group virtually impossible to get killed, but this? It just sounds wrong if they see it the same way (weak mobs still net shitty SP on cures).

Haven't tried this myself until I'm certain it's not a "bannable offense", but if it is then SE might as well remove the option of forming large groups, aoe cures and gearswaps in Active Mode then.

You don't get cure skillups for healing yourself. And if you're grouping correctly, you'll be making far more than you could be by 'heal spamming' until the 500SP cap before killing a mob.

And for people uninformed, the exploit was what it was because it bypassed surplus/sp caps.. not because they were simply spamming heals.

You do get skill ups for curing yourself. They don't seem to happen as often as when you're curing others, but it does happen.

No you surely parried an attack at the same time sot hat's why you got XP but you cannot get skill up by curing yourself

Parry an attack and get 90 skill up points? Don't think so.

    Parry skill ups were quite high on PUG for me, but I thought it's connected to the discipline D;

Am I doing something wrong? I must be..

Ever since I hit level 26/27 on Conjurer my SP gain has been bad. How bad you say? Well last night's party on toads in NW LL were netting me the following over the course of 10 fights..

    0 > 1 > 410 > 0 > 0 > 0 > 0 > 0 > 14 > 0

No, I promise I'm not sitting on my ass doing nothing. These toads stay alive for quite some time which gives me time to spirit dart, nuke, constantly cure, etc. So while the THM in my party is getting 500 per fight by debuffing and curing, the DDs are getting 300-500 per for killing it, and the poor GLD is getting 0-100 for saving our asses.. I'm getting nothing.

Now I know SP gain can be an ass as it just seems to be a random number generator half the time but it can't be this bad. We left to do yarzon in a nearby cave similar to Cass. Hollows and it was even worse. I was actually never given more than 50SP a fight.

I'm in stage two surplus, so I understand the numbers are going to be lower .. but not 0! D=

Now, some people in my LS suggest something has to be wrong.. so I'll post what I can on what I use and the slots. (mind you, vit+ is really high because I was being one-shotted by the toads with Vit69..)

    Str14; Vit87; Dex11; Int49; Mnd48; Pie53~ as CNJ29/PHY28

I'm using willow wands (50-100% durability all the time), none of my armor aside from undergear is broke.

My spirit dart is set to row 1 slot 1, cure 2 is set to row 1 slot 8, cure 1 is set to row 2 slot 9.. although I use macros to cure.

I target the person I'm curing generally, although I do sometimes just <me> when curing within range.

And that's all I can think of. People in LS think my PHY level is too low or my stats aren't allocated right.. but even before my Vit was 87 I had about 10 more of Int/Pie/Mnd and it didn't help any.

I just wonder if it's the fact I haven't switched off of CNJ since I started playing except for 6 times (to level THM).

I'm sorry if this seems like a bitchfest or something, because that's what it is. I don't mind getting 100-200 per mob, but 0 just fucking sucks. There's no reason I should be curing 10+ times a fight for 200HP+ and get nothing. So any help is appreciated. (inb4 lolcnj, lolse, or lolrandomnumbers)

in a party make sure you are within 5 lvls of the leader! but there is nothing wrong with lvling conjurer as it works for everyone else (myself included). maybe you are farther along in the fatigue than you thought?

If I'm not mistake, fatigue just lowers the amount you get but not the rate. Hell, I'm XPing with people with rank 4+ fatigue and I'm only 3~ and they are getting 400-500SP a fight, lol.

Also, the leader is the same level as me now. He was a few below but caught up since, yah.. lack of SP.

Its a broken system drizzled with a smattering of RNG. You just power through it, or level something else. There is no magical "fix" or "better" way to do things. This is the reality of conj right now.

Some people have the patience to grind it out, while others do not. There's no miracle method, though.

So is there a difference between the way THM and CNJ heal or gain SP through healing? I'm not arguing, I'm just honestly curious as to how mah friend I level with is capping his SP out with his first two cures lol.

And yah, I know I'm not the first CNJ to complain. I was just praying there was a sliver of hope that maybe I was just doing something wrong. I guess random is random is random.

Yes there is. Sacrifice gives you two chances to skill up per person; one chance for the base cure and another chance for adding the regen effect. Cure only gives you one chance to skill up per person. This doesn't explain away the 0's you are getting, just focusing on this question.

Random is random. There's no other way around it.
