I don't know if it's been mentioned, but Light Strike's buff appears to give you a 5% (physical?) damage reduction. 1000 Needles did 950 damage to me and that was the only other buff I had on besides Featherfoot and Regen.
feint on pgl is awesome, if you miss either one of the hits you can use it.
I don't think Light Strike is the reason. I've been hit by inexplicable 900-damage needles on my 18MRD, 18LNC and 36PGL since the November version update. This is without any kind of buff. The only common gear I have across those 3 classes is a red longsash, skull eyepatch and a couple ACC rings.
I chalked it up to paid beta and didn't investigate further.
any of you guys used or tested out discerning eye? I've used it a few times when I first got it and it didn;t seem like it was working or if it did the dmg was so minuscule that it was not noticeable
Doesn't seem to do much even when being hit for 400-500s while its active.
I tried it out for a solid rank when I learned it. I removed it after that and never since considered putting it back in.
So the abilities that convert X stat to X stat, can we obtain those on Conj and Thm and equip them on PGL to convert Mnd, Pie, and Int to Str Dex and Vit? Also is it known how much atk, acc, and def that Str, Dex, and Vit add? You can't see the numbers change so it's quite annoying. Same goes for defender; your atk and def stay the same.
I hope they open this up soon, I'd hate to see crazy math experiments needing to be used to figure easy shit out that they could just show us in the UI.
I've been wondering the same for a long time. Nothing is shown on your stats. Even when your weapon is below 50% it won't show the difference. And honestly I think stats help so minimally that those 5 stat ones won't help at all. I have one that converts 5str to int but I see no difference in dmg using nukes while being well under the cap for my rank in int.
not only that but i have seen several mages with vit/mnd builds and very low on int/pie and they report no acc or dmg problems.
dex doesnt seem to help much either, seen no difference between 20 and 65 on my lancer while leveling 10-20.
anyone found a good parser where we can test?
I stack Vit/Mnd on my thm too. R31/50 I"m like.. 110 vit, 100 mnd, 90 pie, 80 int. Rest are in str/dex simply because I do all crafts and I'm scared to remove stats that may help them. A parser would be great to see the actual effect these stats do. Personally I've noticed that each time you rank up(regardless of vit cap) a small number is changed that recalcs your hp. It might only be a 10-15 hp increase on Thm, but it's there. I read that pie does affect siphon mp and since I've stacked 10 more points in there. I've seen an increase in mp absorbed however that could just be due to my rank increase as well, who knows.
Does anyone here use Discerning Eye regularly?
I had been keeping it equipped, but I never use it. Is it worth using? Do I understand correctly that during the timer of the ability, it takes ntoe of how much damage you sustain, and increases your damage as a result? Is it an ongoing increase? Seems a bit rubbish after having used it a bit, but perhaps I've misunderstood it.
I've used it a bit when I first got it and took it off cause it seemed like it wasn;t doing much, put it back on my bar again and tried to test it out and still not seeing a huge jump in dmg gains when used.
From what I see its dmg gains is in proportion to your current HP, so the lower it is the more dmg you gain.
Is there a reason why 50% of the PGLs out there rock level 48 plate armor at every friggen level range?
lots of pugs like to play dress up!!! but yeah seriously I have no clue. Its either that or I see R3x or R2x wearing all R45+ gear cause they think its better for them then the lv range gear they should be wearing. Same with weapons, seen so many use non optimal rank stuff just because they can, or they think it gives them more attack power.
It seems nobody has discussed what jobs pugalist should be leveling for skill buffs for lvling/grouping (unless I missed the post). As PGL(SR18.) I'm currently using Lancer(14) for Invigorate, Ferocity and Doomspike along with Archer(4), Thau(4) and Marauder(6) for Raging Strike, Sacrifice and Bloodbath. Thinking of switching out Doomspike but I'm addicted to full buffs + bloodbath > doomspike = 250-300 self-heal and the mob is halfway dead. Are there any obvious ones I'm missing? Since I have only brushed over what other classes have to offer.
Hawk's Eye. Punishing Barbs, Shock Spikes are good for solo'ing. When you're grind-tanking, opening up a fight with a pre-cast Featherfoot and a Jarring Strike on evade proc is pretty solid, and of course you'll want to keep Taunt and Accomplice handy (the latter for very long fights). That is, once battles drag out to 15-20 seconds of course. As you level, you'll find that (Archer excluded), weapon skills that use over 1000 TP simply aren't worth it. 500 TP are the way to go for consistent damage (Trammel, Heavy Trammel, Skull Sunder). On PGL I generally main CB II, Aura Pulse, Victimize II, and Pounce.
