Don't know about STR or MND, but VIT cap at 28 should be 96.
Pretty easy to figure out for any rank. 2 points of VIT per rank, with a cap of 30 at rank 1. At every rank above 10 that is divisible by 4, you get an extra 2.
Haven't done any testing to see if MND caps at the same point, and testing STR is much harder since there's no visual feedback on your character sheet, and minimal (at best) impact per-point on your damage.
I love you for breaking this down. I knew the extra points were coming from somewhere but was still working under the assumption that the old formula we had been working under changed at rank divisible by factors of 10 (the constant added, not the multiplier).
This is much more succinct, I should've seen it sooner. A+ work.
knock it off. Thread will get purged to flame wars when I get home. Until then if anyone bitches/flames after this post they will get a one day ban.
I do feel compelled to point out that this has only been tested for sure on GLA.
The VIT cap should be the same for all classes, but I haven't tested it, I don't have enough data points on other classes to confirm, and I haven't taken the considerable amount of time required to completely remove all my spent points and then test all the other classes I have leveled one by one.
I'm traveling for work next week, and I think FFXIV will just about run on utter dogshit settings on my work laptop (Core i5 MBP, which I loathe), so I might do a massive de-spec'ing before I leave and try to hop on for a few minutes periodically to test. No promises.
Edit: I really wish SE had used a simpler system for calculating max HP based on VIT. I guess it kind of makes sense adding complexity since it gives them flexibility down the road as level cap increases, but not being able to reliably compute expected HP without a metric fuckton of testing on all classes at all ranks is a real pain.
My numbers were all the same regardless of class when I checked during the beta. Wrote down both MND and VIT caps up to R15 on Gladiator, and double checked some ranks with Marauder, Conjurer and Archer.
It's possible it might've changed, but the caps were the same from beta to release, so it's likely this will be the same too.
On another note, I'm 99% sure (I won't be able to access my numbers this weekend) that you get +4VIT from rank 9 to 10 instead of +2.
ok cleaned up argument. Since the rng on leve is not glad specific, if you want to discuss it make a new thread, but (obviously) try to keep it to test/no drama.
I know in FFXI there was a crapton of meds I always carried so now that I've "solved" my dodo leather problem, I am looking for some meds to carry with me for all situations. So far my list is:
Ether (+50MP instantly)
Ironhide Unguent (Protect)
Ironwill Unguent (Shell)--working on getting some of these still
Any others you guys use that might be worth looking into?
Didn't know about the pro/shell meds. Are they as good as the spell version?
Echo drops don't seem to be required at low ranks like they were in FFXI, but I guess they will later on.
Yeah the panacea effects of protect and shell last like 5-6mins. Tbh i only have the protect ones and the effect seems to be the same as the spell. They only stack to 12 though iirc.
Do people use Light/Heavy slash with swords and Light/Heavy Stab with daggers? Since daggers are ~80% piercing 20% slashing?
getting nice EXP from efts yesterday but fuckin fatigue TT, i wonder when it will reset lol
Resets once per week on whatever day you started leveling GLA.
Accuracy is the primary reason to use daggers.
If you started leveling up your GLA on a Tuesday, then every Tuesday your GLA surplus should reset. At least that's how I have had it explained to me.
but you have to get exp for it to proc so if you are just logging in and looking at the color of your exp bar it isnt enough.
