Quick way to test Raging's buff (in regards to when, not as much "how powerful") is to just Barrage a lowbie mob. First 2-3 shots should get progressively better while the last 2-3 should be the best but close to each other (depends on if the buff applies to the current shot or just further ones).

It turns out DEX isn't that great for ARC, so chin up.

Lowbie mobs are a really bad choice for quantifying attack bonuses. You should probably test on something around R50.

I'd say it seems very close to equivalent DEX=STR

Also very confident that vs Ifrit DEX > STR, and when our next fight of the week is Garuda or a super high defense/lvl mob then DEX will again be most effective.

Veteran's belt as well, if you want something you can use on every melee instead of just ARC.

Yeah, but now that accuracy is actually a stat that matters, Flame Sergeant's Sash is the go-to belt for ARC/BRD (again?).

I would have considered the sash the superior piece at any time, but the question arose for people without access to it.

In a full party with little/no ACC gear I usually have 99%+ accuracy, so I don't really think ACC should be something to worry about unless you're DRG or WAR. Because DEX is so easy to cap, and has such a low cap (as far as testing has shown), I'd swap Flame Sash for Scarlet to increase PIE. Since, unless you don't have/don't want Corselet, the only way to add PIE is through accessories. Vet.'s Belt is also a good option, if you're capped on PIE already.

Obviously if you're capped on DEX it's the lesser choice but 10 DEX is going to beat 3 PIE and you can simply get rid of DEX elsewhere in favor of other stats, but BRD AF craps PIE so idk what you mean about not being able to get it in other slots.

It's still pretty rough to get to 330 PIE and 300-310 dex even with mostly BRD AF. Definitely need to double materia'd stuff.

I guess it's hard to get a whole lot of PIE when I only wear AF for songs and Corselet/STR Trousers everywhere else. With DL boots, Paragon's Crown, and PIE jewelry I'm decently close to cap (~325 instead of 330-335); so getting a double on a body would definitely cover that.

brd is pretty easy to cap stats with a few pieces of DL mixed in not hard at all.

That statement's kind of misleading, yeah, considering my shell's DL droprate is around 0.026% counting total chests opened, and also considering that there's only one DL piece that a BRD would use to more easily hit Seiken's stat caps (Darklight Boots).

    My set is:
    Paragon's Crown
Raptorskin Harness (x2 PIE) / Choral Shirt for Ballad
Fingerless Raptorskin Gloves of Slaying (x2 STR/x1 ATK, same gloves I use for other physical DPS jobs)
    Flame Sergeant's Sash
    Choral Tights
    Darklight Boots
    Explorer's Earrings
    Electrum Gorget +1
    Spinel Bracelets +1
    Tourmaline Ring +1
    Spinel Ring +1

I don't think double-melds are really out of the ordinary anymore, especially if you expect to be clearing AV/CC on a regular basis. That set puts me at 294 DEX, 333 PIE. With Corselet, you need to use Felt Bracers with DEX, which allows you to swap out Spinel accessories for Tourmaline accessories.

My luck with double melds suggest otherwise.

-Don't try and multi-meld IVs (should always start with III)
-Multi-melding the same kind of materia has lower chances than different kinds (STR+ATK has higher odds than STR+STR)
    -Use +1 items whenever possible
-Don't meld your own stuff unless you're prepared for a lot of disappointment

Or just buy pre-made multi melds.

Whoa wait what? I was told that multi-melding the same kinds of materia had higher changes!
