The Fruits of One's Labors

The botanist's profession encompasses the procurement of resources from all forms of plant life. This includes harvesting various vegetables and grains, tending to fruit-bearing trees, gathering wild grasses, cultivating fibrous plants for use in textiles, cutting lumber to supply the carpentry trade, and more.
This wide range of raw materials draws the custom of various other guilds, notably the Carpenters', Weavers', Alchemists', and Culinarians'. Botanists also attempt to educate others about the importance of achieving a symbiotic relationship with Eorzea's plants, rather than carelessly stripping them of their useful parts. This is perhaps best exemplified by the revolutionary irrigation methods devised by Gridania, which first made low-impact, high-yield crop propagation possible. The primary tool of the botanist is the hatchet.

Anyone feel like sharing their observations of what's gathered from where?

For the trees outside Bearded Rock I noticed the middle 3 gave beehive chips, 1 above gave wood most often, very bottom I got a plum from.

All I've gotten so far from the trees around Bearded Rock have been crow feathers (and +1s), elemental shards (fire & earth) + what el_tio has gotten.

You guys successfully equipped in the job traits?

You equip stroke of luck in the bottom row of slots (forget what the heading is). The game will tell you when SoL (HA!) takes effect by stating something like "Stroke of Luck has been activated" when you start gathering (I've only seen it happen on trees, not the scythe points), and will also show that at the bottom of the minigame window.

I had similar experience, 1 Willow Log +3, about 5 various branches and whole load of fruits/bugs/random crap (from harvesting as well)

I wonder if STR and INT helps with logging, or if stats affect gathering jobs at all. I would think if they did, STR and DEX would be mainly what you need,

As for logs, I've gotten loads of them, at least 50 from level 1-15, though most of them came after level 8, and way more often from grade 2 trees.
