I would think people would actually stick around for most of an auction draft since most people probably aren't too comfortable with it yet. I've done a few mock snake drafts for basketball and baseball in the past and people actually stuck around at least until the starting spots were filled.

Also, can we please, please shut the fuck up about scoring systems. It makes no sense to bitch about them at all. You either don't play in them if you don't like them or if you play in them, you better damn well draft towards them.

If QBs are the high scorers, draft QBs. If WRs will be top dogs, draft them. It's really not fucking rocket science. Drafting a RB over a QB or WR just because you think RBs should always be the top scorers is beyond dumb. Don't bitch about someone taking said players and kicking your ass in the league if you join and clearly don't know what the fuck.

3 of 5 had significant injuries, and 2 underperformed. I won that league. Ray Rice went in round 7 lol.

What the hell are you even talking about? We were discussing which systems were the most fair or made the most sense, it's not fucking rocket science. The part I bolded has absolutely nothing to do with what we were discussing.

The argument has already been made for both sides. I didn't imply either way was more fair or made more sense in that post.

My whole point is you play with whatever system you are given standard or otherwise. Attempting to define "fair" is a waste of time in a game that's based on stat collection. Every system is "fair", everyone plays under the same system in the league. Any debate basically comes down to "I just don't like rule X" and that is a rather fruitless topic.

Fair enough, sorry to snap at you. You are absolutely correct, every system is fair in that everyone plays under the same rules. However, I think some systems make more sense and reward good performance better than others. That was the point of the discussion, and I don't think it a fruitless topic(or I wouldn't be arguing it). Anyways, we are clearly not going to get past agreeing to disagree on this subject, so we can leave it at that.

Each person has a budget, one person names a player, people bid on him, continues until all of the rosters are full. I'm sure there is an in depth article on ESPN explaining its intricacies.

The idea is to give everyone a fair chance at every player.

Auction drafts also add in an element to sucker folks into overpaying for players. I did it last year in my live draft. Damn near everyone is a Cowboy's fan, and I can tell which ones are going to be suckers at overpaying for say, Witten. So I start bidding on him, and watch as everyone else drives up the price on a player I don't even plan on drafting for the price.

There is definitely a TON more strategy and planning involved, opposed to a snake draft where you just kind of hope people fall to you.

Do some mock drafts online. I wish I had done that the first time I did it. I was much better prepared the second time around (also helped that the same people were drafting, knew their tendencies).

I'm not all that big on FF tbh. I like doing it and all but I just haven't been in too many leagues. Played like 2 years ago FF, and the same year fantasy baseball with only like 6 of us, other than that, not much.

It was a dolphin so I though the person would try to drive up the price on me, so I bid up and the person stopped I was trying to make them think I really wanted them, but I was trying to drain their budget.

About the 20 man system.


I really don't care, I can adapt (my 2 best teams last year had Brady and Brees as first round picks).

I'm just sick of people that use the stupidest fucking scoring imaginable talking shit about 20 man, and their response to, "Oh, what's wrong with it?" being "ummm..."
