Hey tyche, new nfl thread shit mod.
Hey tyche, new nfl thread shit mod.
Yeah yeah, later today.
Letdown...offensively. You don't hold the #1 offense of last year to 14 points and call it a weak performance. Sure, new year etc. Buffalo's secondary may be better than that, but have fun throwing when they are getting pressure with 4 people. If the Dolphins are to win, it would probably be liberal use of the run to keep that pass rush at bay. I'm not saying that they can't/won't win, but are you really going to choose brandon marshall+henne over chad and palmer, which combined for 160 yds and a TD opposed to 58 yards, no TD? inb4 garbage time because I'm sure headspace has the reason as to why that's irrelevant.
You do realize Miami has probably the 1st or 2nd best offensive line in the NFL?
And the Vikings have a top 5 pass rush.
And again... a secondary that effectively shut down drew brees.
Jared Allen isn't facing some scrub lol. I aint saying that Minnesota isn't going to get pressure, but Henne isnt goin to be under constant duress. Ask anyone who drafted with me. I'm not a Marshall fan AT ALL in fantasy. Ive siaf several times that i dont think he'll get over 90 catches. I didnt draft him in any league. This week, I love him. They targetted the shit out of him last week and now he'll be facing a banged up secondary (who did play well last week!). I just people are undervaluing how long and hard minne gzmeplanned and practiced for the opener.
You take marshall.. i'll take chad. No matter how much I say that Palmer is shit, he is still better than Henne. That's a large part of how well your receiver performs.
Uh, yeah, who was under center for Calvin johnsons best year? Playmakers make plays.

The fantasy football world, at least at the wide receiver position, is looking like a high-scoring game of Scrabble. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to learn to spell:
Devin Aromashodu. Jay Cutler threw ball after ball Aromashodu's way on Sunday, connecting five times on ten targets for 71 yards. With all the weapons the Bears have on offense, particularly PPR gem Matt Forte, it's going to be very hard for opposing defense to focus on Aromashodu this season. I smell a breakout, starting in Week 2 in Dallas.
Legedu Naanee. The Chargers receiver blew by a couple Chiefs defensive backs for a 59-yard score, so his line of five catches and 110 yards is a little inflated from his actual performance. Still, i give him a pass in the rain. Philip Rivers continually fed him the ball, and Naanee is going to have a huge year if that continues, especially if Vincent Jackson never returns.
Mohamed Massaquoi. He sounds more like a Native American tribe than an NFL receiver, but Massaquoi caught an easy 41-yard TD on Sunday and looks like Cleveland's top receiving option. When teams start stacking up to stop the run, Massaquoi should flourish.

o. Don't fear Wes Welker's Week 2 matchup against the Jets, as New York plans to have Darrelle Revis shadow Randy Moss. That means Tom Brady is going to look for Welker a ton in the game. Could he top 20 targets? Welker looked healthy last week and is now a must-start every time out.
o. It's time for Pierre Garcon to step into the realm of No. 1 fantasy receivers. Peyton Manning showed plenty of trust in Garcon after he dropped a few balls, and the talented receiver should reward Manning's trust in Week 2. Don't be discouraged by his subpar performance; start him if you have him.
o. Mike Sims-Walker threw up a zero on Sunday, leading owners in many leagues to consider dropping him. Champ Bailey deserves a ton of credit for MSW's goose egg, and the on-again-off-again receiver is going to see better days. I still have him as a solid No. 3 option this week against the Chargers.
o. Brandon Lloyd was huge in Week 1, but I'd temper my expectations in Week 2. He's going to be very unpredictable in fantasy leagues this year, and you don't want to run him out there unless you have no other choice. If you're looking for players that can possibly have Lloyd-like impacts in Week 3, target guys like Louis Murphy and Greg Camarillo instead.
Dez ahead of T.O..... lol.
Picked up Brandon Jackson in a PPR league and Ryan Grant's former owner wants a trade.
2WR 2RB 1Flex
.5 PPR : 10 yards/point : 6 points / TD
My team:
WR:Greg Jennings, DeSean Jackson, Mike Sims-Walker, Robert Meachem
RB: Steven Jackson, Brandon Jackson, Matt Forte, DeAngelo Williams
TE: Brent Celek
His team:
WR: Randy Moss, Dwayne Bowe, Legedu Naanee, Dez Bryant, Steve Breaston
RB: Ray Rice, Arian Foster, Jerome Harrison
TE: Dallas Clark
I like Dallas Clark, but what options might you consider?
I know this is a easy answer but gotta ask it anyways. What should I do with Moss. Flex WR/RB?

Hm. I got offered Orton for Best. Orton is a pretty consistent FF QB, and he has some nice match ups down the stretch to the playoffs. From week 12: STL, KC, ARI, OAK. I'm thinking about countering to get Orton/RBush. I'm not willing to give up a potential starting RB (I'd be starting him if I didn't have DWill/Mathews) for a match up QB, but is that reaching a bit or fair?
Edit: Meh, then again I don't think I can give up Best. He's probably the best RB on my bench, so I'm gonna hang on to him for byes and as a replacement starter.
Start him for Smith. Nicks has arrived as NY's #1. They paid him to be a #1, and he's got a year of the system under his belt. Eli is gonna' be looking downfield (Edit: and in the red zone) for Nicks a lot more this year, taking a lot of targets away from Smith. Also, I'd start a RB over a WR just about every single time. So then you're looking at Cadillac/Taylor vs Smith/Manningham.
Hows CAR's run D? That's the thing, I don't like my 3RB match ups at all... And you don't think Revis is gonna shut down Moss?
CAR's run D is way stronger than last year. They had some mental errors in the secondary that let Eli get those TDs last week, but I wouldn't expect to see them repeat that. They'll be highly motivated to romp TB this weekend.
So yeah, bad match up for Caddy and Taylor. I could see Taylor being more productive though since Brady will keep them honest. Plus they tossed Maroney. CAR can play a lot more aggressively against the run since they're not facing an elite QB or WRs.
Edit: Don't forget Mr.Acl Jenkins is out for the year as well. The Jets are a little softer in the middle.
I think Moss is going for 150+ and 3TDs this week. Honestly. Revis called him a slouch and he's pissed about his contract situation. So, REvis pissed off Moss and Moss is in a contract year. Beasting Revis gives him a ton of leverage. A focused Randy Moss is > Jerry Rice.
ROFL
Randy Moss does not excel in the face of adversity. Randy Moss does not play well when he's pissed about his contract.
Randy Moss turns into a crybaby bitch that makes TO look respectable.
Randy Moss said he doesn't think he'll be a Patriot after this year. He implied that Brady, Bellichick, and co. actually need him in public while qq'ing for 15 minutes straight, in effort to get a reaction from an organization that shits all over people that try that kind of shit.
Randy Moss gets 3-4 targets while Welker catches 15 balls and Brady makes clear that he doesn't need Moss for shit, because he's not even the best receiver on a team that doesn't even need good receivers.
Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Bellichick decides to fuck with the Jets entire gameplan by not even having Moss on the field half the time. I doubt he'll go that far because if they're going to just take Moss out of the game like Revis always does, they'll take 10v10 without Moss and Revis involved any day of the week, but I wouldn't be shocked. Bellichick loves to make his statements on the field where it actually matters.
