Client works fine for me too. At home on desktop took 10min for all the updates since phase 2, and 20min for my laptop on my school's wireless that is complete shit. Dunno what the fuss is about.

Mocap animation in CG does not work that way. Captured animation curves from mocap are like a very rough draft that are usually heavily keyed and pushed further by animators. They wouldn't restricted by motion capture, so it's inherent delay that is probably intentional.Would make sense, however they use Mocap (Motion Capturing) for animations this time around, so outside of that the only explanation is that there's an inherit delay with active/passive mode.
I restarted my computer. 3 Local connections and 0kb/s.
Any other ideas?
Also, this is the D2010.08.06.2000, is this the bigger file? because it says 1/5, and it would be fun to play sometime tonight/tomorrow.
Open ports for the official patcher, but I did that and still got speeds not nearly as good as utorrent. You can find the torrent files in my documents, ff14 beta folder. They're all there. See which one you need to download by opening the official program and taking note of the patch it tries to download. Make sure you set your torrent program up so the patches automatically go to the ff14 folder, makes things easier and quicker.
Well I look at things like Madden's mo-cap, and while some animations and movements are "locked" (and well should be, otherwise you get crazy glitches like the hyper-speed arm flinging through a chest), you have other animations that can link with others to create a semblance of fluidity where there originally was none.
Ultimately its up to the in-house developer on how they wish to use mocap, but there isn't just one way to use mocap. Plenty of systems have fully fluid, dynamic mocaps that react not only to what the body is doing, but what forces the environment place against the body. SE does not use these methods, however.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess. There's obviously plenty of fans of the "on-rails" mocap style that SE employs - mocap that never interacts with anything, ever. You'd better do a good job of making sure your textures line up with the mocap when you use this style, however, or you'll get that floaty feeling of weightlessness. Thankfully, my toon feels like he has some weight to him, in part to the great footstep sound effects, and the clunking of the armor/weapon.
I can't really explain because it's different for every router, portforwarding.com (I think that's the site) gives a guide of how to do it for most routers.
Thought I'd mention I got a 10$ game credit on amazon.com for preordering my standard edition FFXIV copy. Not bad if you use amazon to buy games and accessories.
What port should I be using? I did a quick search and it might have something to do with 55296-55551? what number do I actually use?
I used the free program from Port forward and it says my ports are not open or not reachable @.@
yeah csaa is nvidia only , although msaa is just fine (usually 4Xmsaa is "good enough/noticeable change without a performance hit on a game)
and as for the update mine just sat at like 0k/sec for about a min, then it finished the first patch in like 5min, pretty much same for 2nd patch. Using the ffxiv thing.
whats the diff between CSAA and MSAA or w/e?
And CSAA is automatically enabled when you go into aax8?
Personally I thought the running around trying to find a harvest/mining point was more fun than the actual hot and cold aspect of harvest/mining... which is to say, the whole thing is boring as suck.
Good. I would be pissed if I had a worthless emote menu mapped to my gamepad by retail, and the open chat button was also worthless (does this mean that we can finally just start typing to chat now?) I'm glad to see they're not completely wasting buttons on the gamepad for needless commands. Well, at least not as many.
But it remains to be seen how useful macros will actually be-- one button could easily be plenty (or even unnecessary). If the only use for it is to easily change equipment and abilities with class changes, we really don't even need control mappings. Since we already have the action bar, and can't gear swap... the primary uses of macros in XI... we might find that macros are something we rarely ever use.
Christ, I hope so.(does this mean that we can finally just start typing to chat now?)
Wha, I hope this is retroactive.Thought I'd mention I got a 10$ game credit on amazon.com for preordering my standard edition FFXIV copy. Not bad if you use amazon to buy games and accessories.![]()
Are you guys fucking being serious right now. And what happens if the first letter of your word begins with W, A, S, or D?
There's always a button to open chat. It's just spacebar instead of enter like usual. Remap it when it becomes available if it's THAT big an issue for you.
