My theory is that inflation would be absolutely bat shit insane if people could grind leves forever. In fact, I'm pretty sure inflation is going to be a major problem as it is. Nothing in FFXI spawned gil from thin air the way leves in FFXVI do and I don't see any significant gil sinks, either.
In any case, I think I'm done for today. Nobody has any gear for sale and my stuff is really behind the curve, so I'll just have to wait for the crafters to stop being lazy bastards. Solo grinding in my shitty gear is pretty painful and for whatever reason everyone just play dumb when you try form groups for leves.
Anyone have any idea what factions are / do? It doesn't seem really implemented but I'm curious.
In Beta 2 you needed 100 Faction Points to be able to get a faction quest. If you know where to look, you would even find some pictures of it.
Could they not cut those Gil rewards for any repeats of a leve in that 48h time frame ? You get to get the xp and skills but not the gils and gear.
Not sure I'm being clear here...
The FIRST time you take a leve you get all rewards. Then the rewards disappear for a period of 48 hours but the leve is repeatable for the rest (xp and such)... Bad idea ?
I'm not stating that I want to solo the game but putting restrictions on things that I can do in the game solely based on "trying to keep you playing longer" is poor. Being able to group for exp is certainly a plus and I hope it's welcomed but setting things in place like "JP midnight" or things like that is a horribly flawed idea.
Making a player wait because......well, for no reason at all is lame. Allowing a player to freely play a MMO in a breathing environment is the way to go. Of course, these are all my opinions. Some people may enjoy doing a quest over the course of 48 hours but personally, I don't.
This isn't a solo game.. its a mmo... They are encouraging you to play w/ others.. deal w/it. Can't fuckin believe how many ppl are bitching that they can't ezymode solo their way to max lv in this game. if you want to do that.. go play that other game

Any BG LS sacks on Jecht atm? Getting bored not talking to anyone.
I'm not sure if this is directed at my posts, but, I don't care about soloing as much as I dislike things like "48 hour cool downs" or "Wait until random time X to complete your quest(s)". To me, that is poor implementation. You know, there is no "difficulty" in waiting 48 hours to have the option to "quest" again or to play the game. Time does not equal difficulty.
As others have said, it's an obvious strategy to get players to party with other people and aid their guildleves. When leves begin taking 30 minutes or an hour to complete, I doubt this will really be a problem, and you won't really be running out of leves in your party.
How does time equal difficulty? Don't think one person said that.. Be social.. go up to skull rock and be like "anybody want help on leve's?" I guarantee almost always somebody will say "sure!" If you don't want to be social, go solo grind. If you want to be social but not do leve's... go make a PT and grind. Leve's have been clearly stated to be a faster leveling experience then pure grinding. If they wanted leve xp/skill to be equal to grinding then they would of made those changes. I don't see why, every 48hrs, having the advantage to make additional money and faster xp for X amount of hours is a bad thing.
And fuck, go do the lv 20+ leve's. that shit gets much harder and u won't be finishing them as fast.. Of course noobie leve's are faster/easier. But when you get to cedarwood and hallow those leve's are harder and will take longer to do. They won't be taking you 10 minutes to do all 8.. Until you start to outlv them they will take you 20-30 minutes (each) and u will prolly die doing them.
Just seems like your bitching to bitch.. and the only thing you can fall back on is the "i can't do anything once i finish my leve's until they reset"
I guess I just had some bad luck, or met people who just wanted to solo, but I've asked a few times, both at Bearded Rock and Skull Valley if they wanted help with their leves and nobody responded... I'm assuming they don't want to split that 3-4k physical exp per mob, as well as the skill points.
I'm not looking to just bitch but I am more concerned that the game will be a grind fest and I can't and won't play a game like that. I enjoyed FFXI as it was my first MMO but at this point in my adult life, I can't dedicate hundreds of days of game play anymore. With that being said, when the comments came out about 14 being more casual gamer friendly, I was hopeful. There is a lot that goes into that as well. Things like a good UI, mouse controls, a good interface that is intuitive. Also, to be able to do some things solo like quest or farm for crafting/professions etc.
The game is in beta still and there still will be tweaks here and there. I'm hopeful that the game is a huge success and by that I mean, I hope it's awesome and I hope I can play it without having to sink a lot of time into it. They have made some changes to allow for that and I hope they keep going with it.
was wondering if anyone compiled a list of skills that chain for battle regimen
Someone do me a favor since I cant do it myself atm, and PM to me.
In character creation, at the Guardian selection, take a pic of it so I can crop out the individual icons. Take two pics with the cursor not being on the same guardian icon, so there wont be a blue border on one of them.
Pleasethanks.
Ok guys. Dont have mages spamming AoE buffs in PT. RUNTIME ERRORS Galore!
Quick question about playing a healing role and the UI.
In the UI lower rightish area it has a list of all your party members and their HP/etc. Can you actually click on the party frame to interact with it?
For example can hit 4 on my keyboard to cast cure and then click a person in the party frame to cast the heal on them? Or do I cast cure then use the Up/down arrows to scroll through the party list until i get to the person I want and hit enter like FFXI.
