FFXIV Random Speculation/Question thread V: No one told me beta would have problems in it

-Unable to figure out leve exchange, I dont think bonuses are in. The only difference I could get was with the Raging Ram leve... one time the reward was 80 gil + Hempen Hat, another time it was 50 something + Hempen Beret.

You trade in old leves, and it boosts the amount of gil your getting as a reward. The new reward is listed in yellow writing instead of white when you confirm your choice.

-Retainers say the darnest things.. I trust something like this won't get me a frickin infraction?

I got one for posting something almost as innocuous, so good luck with that.

-Healing is broken. You can't bring up the purple target cursor if you're targetting an enemy. You need to disengage, target yourself, and then you get the purple cursor and can move around. Annnnnnnnnnoying.

-Servers are rock solid.

So, I've been leveling pugilist. Been putting all my stats into the melee stats.

So when I switch back to conjurer, am I fucked?! I know you can move 9 points at a time or something, but that won't be nearly enough...

Anyone have any experience switching from melee to mage or vice versa at level 10+?

Like I said, we would enjoy seeing/discussing the stuff as much as anyone else here(HUGE SHOCKER: MODS/ADMINS ALSO PLAY THESE GAMES), but the guidelines that need to be followed in order to not be hassled by SE are pretty specific.

Your options are as follows:

1) Post it, it gets clipped, bitch about it.
2) Don't post it because you know it's going to get clipped, don't bitch about it, seem intelligent.
3) Go to another site that is willing to take their shots with getting nagged to death and/or lawyered-upon.

While it is a problem, it has been discussed to death. The workaround is to use your mouse and click the text box for typing.

Any blacksmiths moved up to brass craftables yet? I just dinged 7 blacksmith - burning all 15k of my gil on ore to powerlevel my BS high enough to repair my own shit.

Kind of defeats the point of a screenshot when you have to fabricate it yourself and need to make sure it doesn't look the same as the real thing o.o

Be simpler all around to just quote the text and save both yourself and the mods some time :X

Does anyone know the actual level to repair something that's like level 1? If so is repair like a trait or do you have to constantly level to repair higher level weapons? Is repair anywhere near the level of usefulness when leveling blacksmith?(example lv 10 blacksmith can repair 1-10 weapons)

So is anyone having an issue where abilities dont go off even when you have enough stamina? (probably lag)

Example: light strike (30%) no going off till you're at 50% stamina, or concussion blow (50%) not going off till you're at 100% stamina

Yep. Happening a lot to me. Seems to be draining more stamina than it should too.

Traded in 4 old leves for a new one at the Skull Camp. Gil reward rose from 1500ish to a little over 2000. I traded in 4 old leves for another shot at those failed harvesting leves at Blackrock, small increase in gil reward but it didn't look like the gear upgraded at all.

Gear rewards for leves seem completely random. First go 'round I had no gear reward for the intro harvesting leves, but this time got a spiffy hat and new body armor.

...I hope this doesn't go into retail, but...

I found out on the beta boards that 3xArrowwood Branch + Wind Crystal = 1xArrowwood Arrow Shafts.
So, I decided to see if I could make arrows from those instead of Cedar since I can't find more of it, and wasn't high enough level back then to make shafts from it anyway.

Lo and behold, I was able to make Fang Arrows, with Arrowwood Arrow Shaft + Fang Arrowhead + Cock Fletching + Animal Glue + Hempen Thread.

The grand result? 3 arrows :/

This just started happening to me after changing to lancer. Every ability is taking twice as much stamina as it should, but my stamina also seems to be recovering significantly faster than it was before. Changed back to gladiator and I'm getting the same thing.
