I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the "surplus" stat is a measurement device for S-E to gauge the balance of their advancement mechanic. Don't read too much into it.
For those that mentioned the range issue... check the patch notes. That is going to be addressed whenever SE starts cranking out bug fixes.
I've not seen any surplus points yet as of 18pug/24 physical
still getting 400-700 points off pharoh flies.
How the hell are you getting that much off them? I kill them in all of 4 hits, or are you fighting some crazy high level versions? Which cave are you in?
INQUISITION!
I found those flies last night and was like WOO something good to kill, then my H2H skills slowly dwindled down to 50 a kill even though I accumulated a few hundred prof during the fight. They are great Phys exp though, if only that mattered.
Also Lucavi, I assume they are weak to Piercing, Pug gets a lot more hits off, and we can get skillups on both hands. It must be nice though grinding without glitching though Gulk..
The bloodshore bells are only giving me like 250 axe skill a kill![]()
Question: When I first started powerleveling blacksmithing, I got the touch up option after awhile. Since then, however, I haven't had it. Its not listed as a selectable skill or anything, so how the hell do I get it back?
I checked my skill, trait, and gathering lists, and nada. I want to start touching up to get higher yields of products when I have like 70 durability left, but the option is just gone...
250 is good, Im lucky to get 200+ off any mob. This glitch where your Prof doesn't all go to your skill at the end of the fight is annoying as hell. Even logging doesn't fix it for me except for a couple kills.
@Lucavi, what did you mean by grinding to have an edge at retail, pretty sure they have no plans of letting us carry over Beta chars. You may have just meant know-how though, but I read it as the other.
I meant knowing what path I want to take, leveling-wise, craft-wise, and money-wise. Basically take the knowledge from Beta and use it in retail to get a head start, instead of just dicking around like I did in the beginning of FFXI and WoW.
Play the game with a purpose this time around. Corner the market instead of being cornered by it.
If it's anything like how FFXI JP beta went having prior knowledge will only serve to let you not have to consult the huge manual that will come with the game. Everything else will be altered to some extent.
Also the gathering/hand classes are just bugged in general atm.
I just spammed Heavy Strike a few times to where it said "You cannot perform that action" a couple time, because I was being impatient, and now my stamina bar is regening 3 times or more as fast. So fast I can't even use all the stamina.
I must have triggered a glitch, tried to log and relog and it's still doing it. Guess I can't complain though, just thought it was interesting.
It's kind of annoying and throwing me off, it's like super haste. Annoying in that using moves takes like the whole stamina bar for some reason, but it regens so fast it doesn't even matter. Just distracting..
I think it's just an illusion. I've had it before after relogging a bunch of times, normally when I log back in the first thing I see is my entire chat log from before I logged scroll down for me. That's when it happens.
The stamina bar goes up super fast but at the same time you won't use your skills until the stamina bar has reached much further because in reality it hasn't gotten as far as it looks like. I always just relog to get rid of it because it's annoying as hell and doesn't improve your fighting capability.
Gosh, getting awful points from these jellyfish at 18 and they hit really hard.Moles fail now, arg.
Does DOH level matter when attempting a craft other than repair? And how would you know if it was too high, would the durability just go down crazy fast? Also what happens if you try to repair something you aren't high enough for, just little repair or does the item actually break?
@Gavin, you can dodge their tp moves by moving behind them when they are charging it. Also move around as you attack and you get a lot of flanking and rear attacks which fuck them up.
