Hmm really wonder what determines guildleve gear.. I'm getting all cast gear now, my pug looks like a mage ;/ (that and the gear gives MP but omg at the defense) almost 300MP as a pug wtf ;/
What does Lancer get post rank 24?
Kinda neat.. you can actually see the ring/earrings you wear.. O_o
Before i logged of today when fighting on marauder i got kind of bored and kept circling the mobs Qing attacks and i would get attacks from left, right, front, back whenever i hit the mob from that position.
The wierd thing was it seemed to significantly increase my class skill points i was getting at the end of the fight.
Might have something to do with hitting the mobs from different positions? Might just have been coincidence, cant test it cause i have 3 weeks military in front of me, would be cool if someone could confirm/reject it?
Considering they say positioning in battle matters I wouldn't put it past them to make it beneficial like that, since I STILL see a lot of people spank and tank without adjusting while walking back and then complaining there needs to be a way to dodge mob TP moves.
I always hit em from the back or right side heh, especially the dodos and roselings.
Ughhh. This is depressing.
There were 2 major features in FFXIV that caught my eye and got me interested, and now both have been nerfed to retard levels.
1) Teleportation. I thought the teleport system was really cool. A way to quickly meet up with friends or go back to town and sell/repair. Putting this anima restriction in just ruined it.
No one likes long travel times. Even FFXI's teleportation is less restrictive than this. Outpost teleports, FoV teleports, Campaign teleports, Warp scrolls. You can get around the world pretty quickly. Why are they taking a step back?
You should at least regen anima fast enough to be the equivalent of a *cough* hearthstone *cough*.
2) Guild leves. I liked the guild leve system when I first heard about it. I thought it was going to be the main form of leveling. Good for both solo and party play. No more mindless grinding (who the hell likes grinding). SE ruined this with the 2 day timer. By the sound of their last post (lol go help other ppl with their leves!) it looks like this is not just a "beta setting", it's for good.
let me regale you with a tale of logging:
I chopped at the 2 o'clock mark > you feel nothing promising
I chopped at the 4 o'clock mark > you are getting closer to the mark
I chopped at the 5 o'clock mark > you are getting further from the mark
I chopped at the 3 o'clock mark > you cut down a crow feather +1
I had been under the impression that if you chop in two different places, and your 2nd chop said you were getting closer to the mark it meant you were going in the right direction and the proper chopping point was further in the same direction. But instead it seems that it compares the distance in either direction from the proper place to your current chop with the distance from proper chopping point of your previous chop.
I had gotten to level 15 mining and 12 logging without realizing this, so thought I would post it.
I'm basing this on two instances where this has happened to me so don't take it 100% and confirmation of how this works would be handy.
@Lith: Yep :D
1. You really thought they would allow people to like..never walk again? No one likes travel times yet would complain of a small world. They will likely adjust it but they definitely made it in a way you can't just port your happy ass everywhere and never have to walk again lol.
2. Beta didn't end unless I missed the memo?
In regards to grinding, after dinging 25 physical I seem to only be getting 300 exp/kill now. This the same for everyone else? I was getting 900 before this.
I don't mind countless hours of grinding either... its what I got from ffxi if anything.. patience to stand around and do nothing and or grind something for hours.
Ha, Yeah I did the same. Also I agree with Dest on the tele thing. Sure sometimes it sucks waiting a long time for somebody to reach you or you be late cause it took forever to choco across the world. But at the same time I for some reason enjoyed it. If you were able to teleport across the world, you wouldn't explore half of it anyway.
grinding doesnt seem bad in ffxi in a party situation because you arent doing all the work whereas in xiv you have to do everything yourself.
