maybe, the thing looks odd, also it has a sort of trail behind it up close'ish
it has no visible moving parts other then that so... dunno what it is really can't be one the classic ffxi airships.
oh and the best hp drain like ability you can get is marauder bloodbath.
with blindside, raging strikes, ferocity on pug you can drain like 70-80hp off a blue conned mob (ones that give good exp still that is) doesn't seem sj gimped as it still gives 90% the damage done in hp
Broken legs = perma-gravity. Its funny watching an archer trying to hobble away.
So, is death common enough to pre-order a Special Edition for that god-awful looking Onion Helm? Or is that edition more for the 8 days earlier and the bonus discs of behind the scenes crap? Garlond Goggles look like a more useful item.
Currently LAN 18 and flies are slowing way down. Tried the cassiopeais and swarms down there but they're pretty aweful too. Anyone have a good camp for 18? Or am I stuck grinding my life away on flies?
Personally I got it for the 8 days head start
It's pretty accurate. The special edition comes with a bunch of stuff that appeals to a host of different markets. Some people will buy it for one thing, others a different thing.
I think the head start is the real seller, but then I'm that kind of player - I want to be in the first wave.
dunno, on glad i could shield block mobs hitting me from behind, didn't seem right lol
It takes like 5 minutes to run basically anywhere in the alpha (outside getting to skull rock). So i don't see why ppl can't just run to places instead of burn anima every time.
need to get to LL from Bloodshore? run to Cedarwood and tele to bearded rock then run to LL.. takes less then 5 minutes. from Casioppa (sp) hollow to LL? tele from Casioppa Hallow to Bloodshore and run to Cedarwood and tele to Bearded rock.. takes 5 minutes.
I don't think ppl should QQ about anima costs and recharge when in this day and age they can't run 5 minutes from place to place w/o bitching. and by tele'ing im talking about using the aetherite free tele's
I asked whether or not death was commonplace enough in FFXIV (as it is right now) for Onion Helm to have significant usage. I think it's pretty obvious I'm not some beginner and am going to die frequently because I don't know how to play an RPG. I'm asking from the position of the general assumed skill level of the posters on BG forums.
"yes, maybe no" isn't an answer.
Since I wasn't chosen for the alpha/beta, I don't know if people dying is as it is in XI, or if it's as common and manageable as XII.
What about going from LL to the hallow? Yes, you can LL >> BR >> CW, but you're still looking at a 5 minute run after that. Yes, its not much, but the biggest draw is being able to set your port far away, teleport to town, then teleport back far away without loosing your home point.
Everytime you touch a crystal, you set it as your homepoint, so the less crystals I can touch when going back and forth, the better. Its a poorly designed system if you're going to make the claim that everyone is just lazy and not wanting to walk.
Edit: Miko, death happens pretty often, at least on your first go round'. Death happens PLENTY often when you're fighting elementals or bombs.
yes you can free tele.. From any main aetherite you can tele to the aetherite cracks (or w/e they called) as long as you have visited it once. You can only visit the lesser nodes w/in the zone / area of main crystal. From bearded rock I can go to Cedarwood or Mor Bay (sp). Or from cedarwood / Bay I can go to bearded rock.
From Bloodshore you can go to any of the aetherite cracks in that zone, and vice versa, ect..
