As for mages, I was originally playing on Thaumaturge, and got sick of that shit real quick. They definitely do need to do some balancing there, and there's plenty of ruckus over it in the feedback forum. I hear Thaumaturge's Stygian Spikes recover a lot of MP though. Unfortunately you don't get it until level 16.

lol
I can relate with Kachi in the sense that I just got damn bored grinding. As conjurer, unless you were tied to a node, you weren't using any nukes to do dmg, just buffs and spirit dart/radiance(passive mp regen please?). Lancer you're free to kill a lot faster, but spamming light thrust over and over gets boring quick too. I have a friend that plays, and I try to team up with her, but the xp/skill point cut is just too much and due to lack of gear or balance issues there's no real way to kill harder mobs right now. Don't get me wrong, I think the game has a lot of potential and I know this is just beta, but there is still A LOT to be desired for. I'm just hoping that they fix a few bugs, like the active mode one, no skill/xp after killing a mob, and not gaining all your skill points after killing a mob before the next test. Logging repeatedly to fix these issues is a pain. I don't expect it either, but it would be nice of them to refresh everyone's anima to 100 or something since it seems there has been no anima regeneration, either due to the slow pace at which you gain it or just the servers being down between tests.
I hate how the class skill is only 200-300 while im getting 1k for exp towards physical. at that rate leveling gonna take a minute
Well for testing it is pretty much a straight path. Clearly there needs to be more content over all. I see airships going around in the sky and wish I could go to a new city or a new parallel leveling place just for something new and different to see but I kinda doubt we will see the other cities before release at this point.
Combat is another issue too, I would love to see what % of skills used is just 1, regardless of the class, I would guess like 99.5%. Weapon skills suck and aren't worth the stamina, reflexive skills are something but it's annoying to have to stare at your combat log instead of your character.
Gathering classes as a "Real Class" is a joke and should just be a sub class you have at all times so you pick a gathering class and have the gear for it simultaneously equipped so there is no switching to gather from nodes. I think it is reasonable to have to switch from mine to botany or to fishing but the current way to gather is just retarded.
One thing about your post Kachi... be careful what you wish for. I don't really want to see a return to over-dependence of parties and I don't think that having a party will make the game more tactical or less boring. You'll most likely get bored of whacking some red crab with 4 other people and be back to square one. Parties do need to be fixed but soloing shouldn't be thrown to the wind as a secondary consideration. However I'm bias toward the idea that if defeat a monster that takes 3 people solo I should get the reward of 3 people. Also ready for Open Beta would probably be better than saying retail but I get the point.
@Madhater
There's no visible que when you dodge or miss an attack yet or parry?
Yeah it's a moderate pace, it's not WoW drop your mouse and level 10x fast, but it's definitely not slow either. Once they balance everything it should change a bit, since it feels we were testing a developer build and not so much a public build which tend to be more refined.
I'm more concerned with crafting levels once you get around 15-20. I mean, with a melee, you're limited by the bugs, of course, but at its core, you're limited only by the enemies avaliable. You can slog through 2 fights a minute for 200 class points or something and still make progress.
Crafting I got about 350-500 points on average - when I skilled up. There were the rare times when I tried something really hard and got 950 when I actually managed to complete the craft, but when I'm a level 20 blacksmith and have 30,000 class points TNL... uhh... am I still going to be able to get a decent amount of points through making ingots?
I'm going to assume that during the beta, its not going to scale properly, IE. iron ingots probably wont give more class xp than bronze ones do, considering you'll need more points TNL when you're doing iron, but I do loathe how much of an investment of goods I'll need to hit the higher levels of blacksmithing (in beta).
Quick question. Walked into my local Gamestop and preordered a few copies of of the "Collector's Edition". Does it still qualify for the bonus item (Onion Helm)? Or do you have to do it online.
Thanks
Edit: Also if you ordered the Collector's Edition. Do you qualify for the Garlond Goggles, or is that a Standard-edition only bonus.
Has anyone done a battle regimen that actually did something?
Hello everyone. I'm wondering if anyone has the same problem I have in beta. With SLI GTX 480's I'm not seeing enemy information. Examples would be I target the enemy and that's it. No enemy name, color dot for difficulty or HP. Also has anyone been able to run the game smooth with all the options in the "Config" turned up? I can turn them all up to max except for Buffer size which I set to "Window size". When I try to set to "double" I get laggy.
I'm not sure if it's just a beta bug and not to be worried about because many have these issues or if it's just me. Thank you for your replies.
There are videos of battle regimens working. They did not look anything spectacular but they do seem to give status effects.
You learn Onion Cut!
"Oh snaps!"
Your Onion Cut hits the <t> for 60 points of damage.
"What?! That cost me 75% of the bar!?"
Wtf...
As for the BR questions... Managed to do Light Slash (Glad) > Light Swing (Mar) = Regimen of Ruin (Defense or Attack down... Can't remember.) and Howling Vortex (Glad) > Brutal Slash (Mar) = ???![]()
Yes there is, I just find it unreliable. Sometimes it's the camera that gets in the way by being too close in when locked in, other times its lag or the way things scroll during combat that make it so its harder to use the reflexive abilities in time. There are small issues with stamina and skill queues that make them harder too. Basically the story of the game is small problems separately make large problems all together.
Not sure about the last part, since--wait, wait, yes. When someone uses up a spot, sometimes it will move. Especially true in harvesting/quarrying. At least with the latter, it moves somewhere really close by, but with the other, you have to find a new logging/mining point.
Harvesting points, at the very least, I know spawn in the same little areas. There's a couple of spots I know about, for instance, near Bloodshore that I can reliably run to when I'm in the area to get some skill ups. Logging points I'm not so sure about, however.
There's no fightclub today?
