FFXIV Random Speculation/Question thread V: No one told me beta would have problems in it

Tried out the Element thing. With 80 in Water my Water on Conjurer does about ~30 damage more than my other nukes, so seems to work. And I only thought that was for resistances.

SE said its for elemental based attacks and resistances, just the help text doesn't reflect that yet.

I just did some testing spamming non-damaging spells on enemies I can handle in order to max skill ups. In my case, slow->gravity->poisonx10 or until slow/gravity is up then repeat. Did this on green-yellow lady bugs. The first mob seemed normal, got what I should have (1010XP and i think 490 Skill points). Here's the second mob:

Proficiency messages during the fight: +62, +62, +63, +75, +70, +47

The mob died, and I was awarded 187 Skill Points and 18 Surplus points.

I think it's just fucking broken lol.

They removed organising during the alpha because it was causing too much sever stress. At least we have auto-stack now, selling items one-by-one with the menu delay present during alpha...

Lv30 PUG now.. and.. After hearing Archer doing 1,2k damage with their lv30 ability I must say I'm extremely fucking disappointed with the skill I was just received.

Custom ATI drivers for those that want to give them a try.

Best thing i like about these drivers is the uninstall process. It may seem strange but ATI driver uninstall is crap. They never uninstall everything. These custom drivers get rid of all the video drivers you have so your doing a fresh install. It also removes NVidia drivers as well.

For people on Emp: Couldn't find people for those leves btw. Most of us did leves last night. We'll try tomorrow when they are off cooldown. Maybe even get a Faction Leve in there too. I have enough credits for 1 of each.

what did you grind on to hit that? ive been doing swarms and im only getting 100 a piece. I dont know if I want to have to kill 300 swarms just to level up to 26.

Got a party of 12 and we took down a few salamanders with me as the tank. Just kept provoke, shield and phalanx up, never lost hate. Exhilarating.

We found this huge frog called a "Nix." Has anyone seen it before?
We also did some fallen humanoids. Its very interesting to see how gladiator takes damage from high level mobs compared to other jobs.
Before we engage with the mobs we send 1 person at a time to do some testing to see how much they hit for. Most these guys 1 shot my party members while it will take about 3 to take me down.
Also, Im amazed at how well i can keep hate without ever hitting it and just provoking every 20 seconds.

you know, im pretty sure theres some level differemce/curve effect going on there, 22 pug i decided to randomly kill a warf rat, did more than 200 a swing that prolly means my old weapon skills would hit for 400, sooo prolly the archer gets a strong ability, but moreso he is just way over level and there may not be a cap on over level.

in other news all of the tank abilities on monk are a lil ehhhh its fine but we should have just as much attack stuff, we are theoretically supposed to be able to go from attack mode to defense mode.

Seems we'll get a week or two w/o beta, and character purge, but that's ok. I hope it will be worth it for all the changes :D
