I've been popping in this forum for the last few months and reading something here and there thinking this game was coming out in nov/dec.
Now I find out its coming out in like 6 weeks(ish) I got a lotta questions and I don't want to sound like a broken record but maybe you guys can help.
Any videos or channels with some good info on how the classes work as I don't feel I will find a ton of info going through 50 pages of this thread.
Also I didn't see it anywhere else does gear become 'soulbound' when you wear it or are we going to have a flooded economy in a year?
By the sounds of it archer is gonna be awesome though, I'm debating that or a caster atm.
I might be wrong on this, but I don't think anything beside starting weapons are bound to the character. You can bazaar broken things too, but will displayed damaged. Broken items can't be sold on retainers either.
You couldn't directly trade broken things either, when I saw that you could bazaar them I found that very weird and I assume it wasn't really working as intended. Guess it's a bit early to tell how SE plans for it to work entirely still.
when you see dmged things in a bazzaar its because they are seeking repairs. A crafter can come and try to repair it, and they get the money you posted if it suceeds. you can also have your retainers seek repairs for you. its actually one of the cooler things i think, especially for retainers
Ah alright, that's pretty nifty then. I didn't really look that much into it, I only remember trying to give some already worn gear to a friend and it wasn't working.
edit: How does that work though, is it the crafter who brings the item to repair the broken gear that you've placed in a bazaar?
the crafter has to supply the mats, so your price should consider that
I would imagine the next build will have replacements for the panes and menus that people have complained about.
I'd settle for the complete character progression system. There are traits and skills in the dats we aren't getting at the appropriate level.
At a minimum, I'd assume the UI fixes, the control fixes, and everything else that's been in their "to-do" list for the last month.
Fuck that, it's time to get rid of all the placeholders and get the ball rolling. Complete overhaul on the whole game or GTFO.
Certainly it has to be a pretty major update or I'm going to really doubt the shipping date.
Why? In all actuality they have the game done. They're just trying to get our feedback so they can tweak the final build based on what they gave us. They're usually steps ahead of the public. They can't roll things out like they did this quickly through Alpha and Beta if they were only at the step we currently see.
Nope, they have a finished client and a client that we're testing, for example at Gamescom they displayed an 06/07 rapture build, which was 1 year after the xbox 360 technical demo which was rumored to be the next MMO (but not FF Game at the time)..then about a year after that we got access to an Alpha build which differed from the gamescom build, the graphics were also reduced in quality which means we got a very different build of the game.
Then at E3 they displayed the beta client, while we were still running the Alpha build, yet they had a separate build being shown off.
So they have multiple builds they just let us test a different build to get feedback about what they aren't sure of and incorporate it into the final build, it saves A LOT of time and money compared to pushing what we're testing into the retail build which then could cause delays because they have a lot of tweaks to do in only what, 6 1/2 weeks?
I don't know how long these things take but it seems they probably are already stamping a version of the game with all the content to dvds. Then they can add the minor things they change with patches.
