Hopefully they adjust gil to be... worth something (although I wouldn't mind popping an elixir for mana per second while blowing mana away as fast as possible to level)
I had 60k on me when phase 2 ended, and I spent 20k+ a day on crafting mats of various types and bought one of all the accessories etc to see what they looked like on you.

I did leves with groups everyday though, which helps more than most of the whiners on the test forums realise. Even when I had no leves of my own, I could earn up to 20k a night just grouping up.

Another thing to consider is that gil/xp was probably a bit inflated for the beta, to help testers level faster and buy more armor/materials. They may adjust things for Beta 3, or wait till launch.

Well I hope the exp is semi.. going to eb what it was in beta... or its going to be sloooowwwww lvling (unless the first cap on release is lv 30)

any class but ranger pretty much level near a snail pace by class level 25+, I'd hate to see what Lv 50... 60 75? would be like for any class but ranger because they could just sit n farm flies all day long for super fast exp

anyway its all speculation, as we'll be seeing alot battle adjustments in phase 3~!

It wasn't slow for Pugilist either at those levels, sure 1-2 hour per level isn't super fast either but I wouldn't push it that far to call it slow.

Sure that's a valid point. I suppose you could modify the way the experience chain timer works to increase depending on the level of the monster you just killed, but this could potentially make it hard to beat the clock if you pull something IT+++ just after fighting something EM. Of course the party might anticipate this by conserving tp etc. during the easy fight, so they stand a better chance on the upcoming IT+++ fight.

I personally like the idea. You can "kill weak little shits" all day if you want to, or opt for the cake.

It sounds like they're making a party system that won't be a hassle or annoying to work with.
This. There'll be much less of that whole, "sorry, can't come, party's already full" business, because the cap is so much higher. The only thing that remains to be seen is if they implement it in a manner that is balanced well (with regards to proportionality of party size) or whether, for open world mobs, it just won't really matter.

I really want to try playing around with party sizes and the guild leves reward system come P3 (if I get in) to suss out how the system might work. I know some of you guys were attempting to do this towards the end of P2.

Well, I know you can only make an assumption off of beta however I'm pretty sure their will be skeletons for blunt dmg people and plants for Marauders ect...
So I highly doubt that it will stay that way long. Also I've seen some mages solo red mobs just by being mildly intelligent and kiting. That method may not be common practice by the majority who expects to faceroll tank stuff like a Gladiator and still have superior cures and buffs.

Anyone can kite in the beta so long as they BREAK HUMAN LEGS prior to running. Seriously, I miss that shit already.

oh I sat n punched skeletons for a good 2 levels, they don't really seem to be taking any extra damage from hitting any other flying like for example fly's, although sea puks took a bit extra damage compared to everything else I was punching.

also I've not seen many mages kite.. namely because vs a red mob all they do is get 100% resist, silverbreeze can tell you all about trying to land anything on a red con'ed mob!

I'm holding out for smn to be released and level sync so I can astral burn my way up. It's the most logical choice.

I made 35-45k every time I did cedarwood/cassiopeia hollow leves + 2 miscellaneous leves. That's with an average of 2-3 item rewards in there as well. I blew through gil like a mofo buying stupid crap that wasn't even used for anything and I still finished with like 30k leftover.

I expect the rewards to be toned way down for everything past Bearded Rock, especially if party exp gets fixed.

I'm not sure if that's good or bad. As long as there are no items at low level that high level people would want, I don't see a big problem in getting lot more money from the higher level leves. Obviously the price of high level items will adjust accordingly.

Although the in-game economy is such a massive concept that I might be missing something.

I'd call that fast, especially since you can solo level. Levelling in XI took ages early on, with 3k EXP per hour seen as a good party and 2k being all too common. You'll have some hardcore people playing for 35 hours of the first 48 and presuming the first 15 levels are faster than 1-2 hours per level there will be people past 30 after two days. There might even be people at the level cap by the time the standard version is released. I wouldn't be surprised if EXP is adjusted again because that's too fast.

I can't decide which route to take to get an advantage on the economy. Rushing to cap lets you farm high level items with little competition while crafting lots at the start has its pros too.

I still can't understand what was the whole point of making physical levels so easy to come by. You can only level it once for god's sake, they should make it raise at least three times slower than skill ranks >_> Also gives people time to think about their stat allocation further than just for their first class.

And for what reason did they have to take down the servers for a week+?!

Not sure why they even really did physical level. Kinda limits you to either melee or mage. I understand that maybe they were trying to get people to think outside the box of how they wanted their character to grow but why not just allow you to distribute stats to class rank and have it saved as you progress.

So say you level Lancer up to rank 2, and you get 6 stat points. You throw 4 into dex, and 2 into str. Now you have 17 str and 20 dex, everything else 15.

Switch to Conjurer rank 1. You have stats 15 across the board. You hit rank 2 CON and throw all 6 points into INT. So now you have 21 INT and 15 in the rest.

You get sick of spamming spirit dart and go back to lancer. When you swap your weapon, your stats are back to 17 str and 20 dex, everything else 15.

You get the idea. Not sure if this would kinda be too much of a pain for SE to do? Technically you did the same thing with stat merits in XI but they carried over all jobs, although when you switched a job your stats would change. Also not sure how gathering/crafting classes would utilize this, since stats don't really play that big of a role(or any for that matter). I realize this is a more casual game(or so everyone says), but under the current method it just seems a chore to have to switch stats every time you switch a class. If CON is my main class and I have all my stats in INT/PIE but want to go level up lancer, then I have to reallocate the points or be gimp and level lancer with the wrong stats. Next time I switch back to conjurer, which could just be later that day, I have to reallocate the points back, or do nothing if I was gimp and leveled lancer with int/pie stats.
