FFXIV Random Speculation/Question thread V: No one told me beta would have problems in it

My apologies then, I thought they were but hadn't read it or used it.
At any rate we can now really begin to play and see if gear swaps will be effective a la XI.

Pretty sure that there is a "lag" before gear stats come into effect.

The min/maxing of gear for FFXI was fun in a way, but spending forever to get a piece of gear that's used 10% of the time wasn't, same with having full inventory constantly.

I won't miss it.

No I haven't forwarded any ports, don't really know how to if i'm honest.

I remember reading that there are sections completely blocked off. Is the area where we can set up shops and retainers opened?

There's also an option to run the game at 2560x2048. Let's hope they've optimized the engine a bit more since the last phase :D

There's also many new graphic options in the configuration utlity. Like more multisampling options 8>16. Buffersize also got some more additions in regards to resolution. They also added some option to disable effects during cutscene and options for texture quality/filtering. There's also a toggle to disable sound when application is being run in the background. That's all I can see right now.

looks basically identical to XI, only thing that has changed is some of the input commands to write the macro

They only posted the text commands. The macro system itself is still unknown.

How many Macros?
How many lines per macro?

Nevermind, scouted the beta site and stuff, at the moment im downloading all 4 torrents i found in "My Games" using utorrent and they are going alot faster than official downloader.
