I was in a dome Imax a long ass time ago, from what I remember it was pretty cool. The normal Imax screens though are the HUGE ones that the guy compares on his blog. They are made of win. I will pay 18 bucks any time to see a really good movie in Imax. Inception was great, as was Star Trek, Both Batmans, and Avatar.

As a heads up to first time goers to an imax...get there early. If you end up in the front few rows of an imax screen; 1. Your neck will hurt like hell. 2. You won't be able to see the entire screen. 3. Your neck will hurt like hell.

If a movie is out in imax, I see it in the imax. I don't care if it's $15 a ticket. It's worth it.

Seconded. Forgot to mention this. If it's a big movie, I always try to get there 20+ minutes early. Crazy as it sounds, the Imax theater gets packed. I usually sit in the last 5 rows. As Tyche said, you DO NOT want to sit up close. It completely sucks. Sit as far up as possible. You'll be able to see the whole screen as it should fill your peripheral vision.

I usually drive to Cleveland for the "dome" screen, but apparently there's a "real" screen in Pittsburgh. Bleh... must... move to coast.
