I have had this argument with people before. If you believe god will cure you, why don't you believe he did so through medical enlightenment? That is normally when they consider me one of satsn's minions.

Hate to agree with this joke, but I'm torn between the disgust that this article generates and the general idea that this world would be a better place if all religious people stopped using medical treatment.

I really wish this was the case, the only problem is when a child is the one that gets punished because of the parent.

Odds are, that child was going to grow up to be just like their parents. What if that kid was going to grow up and be another Rush Limbaugh?

Assuming you're responding to that...of course there's a difference. Just because you have a history of making strong arguments against religion doesn't mean that everybody who feels the same way is automatically a genius.

Just wait until Vajra appears. He loathes EVERYTHING about Science and medicine and believes it is the devils work. Yet he openly admits that if he or a family member gets sick he runs to the ER and to his doctor for treatment in lieu of prayer.

I just want him to stick to his guns and see if it inevitably leads him to pushing up daisies, neither of which would upset me terribly. Always scolding others on the glory and majesty of the afterlife, but never ever in a rush to get there. Funny how that works isnt it.

No, I was saying, "you're saying there's a difference?" to the "God isn't telling them to do this, it's people who have convinced themselves that God is telling them to do this" about the topic at question and sarcastically applying it to every aspect of religion (bible, etc).

Yes, by one of the mormon people who walk door to door. I told him I wasn't interested etc and he was being all pushy, so I just closed the door. And he yelled back, "YOU'RE GOING TO HELL!" That wasn't very nice of him.

I live in a nice neighborhood but the religious people were coming two or three times a week at one point. Sometimes at 8 am (I normally don't go to bed till 2 or 3 am) so it was really pissing me off. Luckily i wasn't the only one because a few weeks ago a "No loitering" sign's got put up, and we have two very old lady's who like to sit on their lawns by the entrance to the neighborhood. I've seen them call the police on people knocking door to door. I haven't had a person at my door sense.
