I have a keylogger, help :(

So my WoW account was compromised, and then I got requests for my facebook (which I don't actually use) password to be reset. So I have a trojan or a keylogger or something. I ran Avast, and it said I have 0 threats, and I also use firefox + NoScript. I probably let a few too many scripts through while I was pr0nning it up trying to figure out which one lets the video load. Any who, how do I check for this shit? I am PC retarded.

I wouldnt even try to clean your system if you already have accounts compromised. Back up everything you can to CD or DVD and then wipe your hard drive and reinstall your operating system.

You could have a rootkit virus or something of that nature if all your scans keep showing no threats, when it is obvious there IS a threat since you have had data compromised.
If it is a rootkit, then it is Much easier to just back up what you can and reinstall your OS.

It's a bitch and a half to deal with by starting over like that, but knowing that your system is completely wiped clean makes it a lot easier to sleep at night - IMO

Yeah I'll just reformat I guess. Does windows7 have a reformatting option or do I just pop my OS disc in?

I don't have as much experience with Win7 as I would like to, my company is still using XP Pro and I personally use Ubuntu.

But from what I do know~~

Did you buy Win7 or did it come with the equipment you are using?
If you bought it stand-alone then you probably need to use the disk, however if you are on a laptop or something and it came pre-loaded then there could be a restore partition on your device already - just boot to it and should reveal options to do a factory restore.

when you boot from the win7 cd from startup u can choose to delete and reformat partitions just like any other version of windows

just reformat to make sure! usually what i do in the rare case I get a real trojan
