There are lots of other problems that could make your life a lot less comfortable before you die (assuming you aren't retired or ill already). Just something as simple as your house flooding or fuel prices sky rocketing can have a huge impact on anyone.

Implying house flooding isn't common to some people? sup having my house flooded in san diego any time it rained because we were at the bottom of a hill ;\ mold everywhere yo. But seriously if something extreme happens it does, i don't care enough to put in my hat to stop it. And putting in my hat to a large thing that requires the world's overwhelming unified support seems laughable at best when we haven't even mastered safety procedures at oil rigs yet.

That's why I think a lot of the changes that are needed should be imposed instead of suggested. You can use as much power as you want, as long as you're willing to pay 3x the current cost per kwh, or something along those lines.

    Don't tread on me.

Edit: and things being imposed by one country does not mean all countries will follow, china loves its smog and growing industrial areas, its eco friendly stuff is only along the coast.

In that case we'll charge you 6x the cost to make up for china, lol.

but seriously if i saw an actual possible fix within my lifetime and the cooperation of mankind i would be all for it, but i don't and i know nothing of undeniable importance will happen in my lifetime so, yea hard to care, and arguing about climate change existing or not is rather dumb and i hope no one actually argues that and the only argument is actually the degree to how much humanity affects it. Or else ur friend is a dumb dumb.

It's strange, he isn't stupid otherwise but he got this idea in his head and he only reinforces it with information that validates that view point. So from his point of view there is a ton of reason to believe it's all some exaggeration that got out of hand. He doesn't believe the earth is warming at all. He has cited stories that were debunked a while before he heard about them. This seems to be the only issue he really does this with too.

The media flooding any news about global warming with false equivalencies makes it hard to discern reasonable information if you just use 5 minutes of google-fu to find an answer.

I quite disagree that its presented in a more honest manner, its partly their conclusions, partly their responses to comments that are a bit more than simply misleading. But the greatest failing of the site is what they emit, that is well within the scope of the argument.

Although for sure i agree with you the political "the science is done and dusted" argument is a joke. Regardless how serious(or not) this whole matter actually is, theres nothing more dangerous than giving politicians an unequivocal mandate on the issue, Felling a forest and tearing up a mountainside to build 5 windmills, theres such a thing as trying too hard.

If anyone honestly thinks the argument over the human contribution to warming, one way or the other is rock solid, and even worse think less of people for being impartial or disagreeing you need to get a life.

My biggest problem with this debate is because it is constantly referring to "Global Warming." It's climate change end of story. I really don't want to get into this debate, so I will only say that I used to "believe" fully into global warming but then after doing some research it caused me to form my own opinion. Either way both sides are fucking retarded and trying to convince a person fully one way or another is ignorant.

Both of the extreme sides to this issue are completely biased, and as a result of this bias they truly do believe that these things are true.

Nothing is black and white on such a large, global, complex issue that to say a single compound, one that's so crucial to the carbon/life cycle of our planet, is the primary agent of change is

Yes, true, if only both sides were able to just be open minded, they might be able to agree on something and end all this ignorant fighting.

Mankind is a tropical species. So long as nothing extremely bad happens as a result of global warming it's much more advantageous for us as a species to not be undergoing the global cooling we're SUPPOSED to be having right now. Statistically speaking, cold itself is more dangerous than asking for help from Ed Wuncler.
