I don't really buy the "a kid dies of hunger every 3 seconds" statistic.

57,000,000 people die a year.

That's 1.8 people per second.

That's 5.4 people per 3 seconds.

I find it hard to believe a 5th of all deaths are hungry kids.

Tell that to the average people with 2.2 kids.

Perhaps every 5 deaths, you combine the .2 kids that are normally discarded fractions, and get an entire kid discarded!
