Best Moments in Video Gaming.

So with the arcade machine im building, ill also be making about a 2 minute intro vid, and I want to make it a compilation of the best moments in gaming.

Id like to skip most current generation stuff, and just keep the range to atari to ps2 gen at latest, but more focused on the older gens and arcade games.

So like a clip from dragon's lair, bubble bobble, mortal kombat, metal slug, tecmo super bowl, mario kart, golden tee, pacman, contra, frogger, golden eye, sonic, etcetcetc. Ill take about 5 second or so clips and make them in to a video of sorts.

Clip from YT or somewhere would be awesome, but a simple game suggestion would be fine too.

Figure it should be easy to cut out the parts with Kazuya, Jun and Ogre and make use of the part where he's punching at the screen.

Honestly, old school fighting game intros are basically MADE for this kinda thing.
Fortunately for me, fighting game stuff is mostly what I remember from my younger days.


Super SFII with Ryu doing hadouken on the screen is a no brainer but you could also use clips from this as it was one of the more badass intros in the mid 90s.

Also, doubt you want the whole thing clogged with nothing but fighting game stuff so I'll stop here.

Well not the whole thing, but yeah those games do make great intros. Obviously I have 120 seconds worth of space, and there are like 5 fighters people will esily recognize, so 5~8 seconds a pop, I can easily throw in a few fighters.

For a couple more fighting games would be Soul Calibur (1/2) or Soul Blade, maybe Psychic Force or Bloody Roar 2.

Ok fuck, no more fighting games. Some Shmups could be nice, DonDon Pachi, R-Type, Touhou, Gradius etc. Oh, that reminds me, Zone of the Enders would make for some nice stuff as well.

DMC3, pick a moment, any moment. I would do some of the combos from Swordsman, or some Royal Guard shenanigans (8:20 is the best RG moment, I've tried it and failed miserably).

R-Type games are fucking weird, from shooting babies in crystals to a final stage where people have sex in the background. Final Boss fight in this video is pretty nuts, and the last section can be without a good wave cannon.



Still love it though, R-Type endings can be depressing as hell as well.

The confrontation with Ridley at the beginning of Super Metroid is more iconic to the series, and 'theatrical' in my opinion, makes for better montage material. Or blasting Mother Brain with a hyper beam, though I don't know if there's any good 'cinematic' moment there where the screen isn't cluttered with gameplay bullshit.


Contributin'-

MGS3: Flowers turning from white to red in the flyover cs after Big Boss fight, can cut in with Snake's salute if you want a theatrics touch (this part might make it a tad long, the flowers is short and sweet and *easily* recognizable to anyone who's played it though)

Chrono Trigger: Take your pick, tons of cinematic moments here, something with Lavos maybe.

Megaman: Either Yellow Demon, Gutsdozer, or Wily coming out to fight; or if you want something more cinematic, take one of the many times he's looking out over the landscape at the end, there's a few where it's very clearly Megaman.

Lucasarts: Take your pick again, good scenes in any Monkey Island game as well as Day of the Tentacle...though these are more iconic than epic, not sure which you're really going for.

I may think of more, it's taking some effort now while these few were right off the top of my head. It's a start at least.
