I'm still betting some geeky looking girl. I know there was an episode that showed Timmy with a family at the end remember Cosmo/Wanda. Wonder if this movie is supposed to tie the gap between that scene and the series. Either way if they wanted to make the show go out with a bang they should have done something other than this.

Anyway for more classic cartoons that we have fond memories of as children that are going to become live action... I found 3 more besides the smurfs/yogi:

    -The Jetsons
    -Jonny Quest
    -Tom and Jerry

    Synopsis sounds awful...D:

I wonder if Vicky will be in the movie? Gilbert Gottfried as Dr Bender would be cool though.

You're right. According to Wiki first airdate will be this year and the last episode of season 6 will air in 2012. With the movie taking place in 2011.

Also Dmitry, this won't be in theaters. It's a TV movie.

Ah, all the better then I suppose.

I haven't watched the show in a long time, has it stayed relatively decent or has it turned into another long running series that just won't quit?

It's so and so last I checked. I used to watch it every now and then when there was nothing else on. Humor seemed to stay pretty accurate.

I wouldn't mind the first 2 if they got a halfway decent script, Johnny Quest wouldn't(or shouldn't I should say) be too far off from classic Indiana Jones movies so it has potential to be epic. The Flintstones movies kinda showed that even if you get the environment right people might hate it if your script isn't that good(although I actually liked the first one)

I'll admit I liked the first Flintstones movie to, although the plot was aimed at young adults and older for the most part. However since cartoon to live action movies have been crap lately, I'm pretty sure these will be a disaster to.

To me the first Flintstones movie was on the same plane as "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" such that there are things in there that kids can enjoy, and at the same time stuff in there that are aimed at adults to keep them entertained as well, which is why I can still watch and enjoy Roger Rabbit to this day and still find it to be a great movie.

I can't really watch the first Flintstones movie with a straight face anymore cause the guy who plays Capt. Cragen in Law and Order SVU plays Mr. Slate, and everytime I see him I think he's gonna give fred a rape case to investigate. I can't see that guy playing any other character anymore lol.

Idk who thought a Tom and Jerry movie would be good. I honestly never really like the cartoon either, and I'm sure it'll end up being like (how I think anyway) Garfield and Marmaduke movies are.

I'd watch this movie though, just to see it. The cartoon was pretty funny sometimes. I think it sounds kinda dumb though.

Holy crap, how can you hate Tom and Jerry or any other cartoons from that era? You'd have to probably be very very young to even think that. Unless youre talking about he 'modern' T&J which sucks, the older ones are impossible to hate on.

I'm 20. I've seen the older ones and the newer ones. I just never really cared for anything without much of a plot (though cartoons in general don't have one a lot). I thought it was dumb Tom always tried to catch Jerry and just got beat up every time.
