a dream is a wish your heart makes
Dreams have meaning. Back in high school, I had a dream about a school dance. I was having a good time and I see this cute girl so I go to talk to her, but when she starts talking all she's saying is "BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP." After awhile I was like "Okay.. That's kind of annoying.." then I woke up with my alarm going off.
My dream was telling me to get the fuck up and turn that shit off.
I foresee the future in my dreams.
A bomb taking out Manhattan.
Dreams are a natural part of your sleep cycle. Generally speaking they will occur during REM sleep, but can occur in the other portions. If you remember a dream though, 99% likely that it was occurring during REM.
And Sath's explanation in the 4th post is what dreams break down to, it's your brain processing the days information for easier storage. Trying to process the hidden meanings behind your dreams would be like trying to understand what's happening on TV while flipping thru channels super fast.
If you wake up and "remember" a dream, what's really happening is your subconscious trying to make sense of what it was just processing and mixing and matching so the rest of your brain can try to give you a decipherable result.
If you're trying to look into the deeper meaning of your dreams, stop doing drugs/stop watching Psychic Friend's Network.
I became interested in dreams once I started remembering them every other day and then started having lucid dreams. Since then, I have read quite a bit into the matter, mostly out of curiosity, and I must say I am positive a great deal of all that is written/said about dreams is bullshit.
All about interpreting them belongs to that great deal of obscure, baseless and in general silly information, in my opinion.
Also, how is that dream really weird? lol, if you only knew... Even if I didnt believe trying to find meaning behind dreams is silly, I dont think there is much to find on that one, really.
A friend of mine has really fucked up dreams, including one where he was hiding from Osama Bin Laden, who was flying around on the Green Goblin glider throwing bombs off the side.
Please, interpret that, because it doesn't seem to make any fucking sense.
Barack Obama = Norman Osborn?
Gives a whole new meaning to the Dark Reign storyline.
Edit : hey freudian slip, I said Obama instead of Osama. Go brain.
i opened this thread up thinking it was gonna be cool or interesting by any means
Not one mention of Sigmund Freud. I'm disappointed.
Freud can't stop rolling in his grave from all the unnecessary quoting and misrepresenting he gets.
This is why people that go to school for Psychology don't have jobs.
Because of their mothers?
If they're mothers were smart they wouldn't let their children be a Psychology major. There are plenty of high school girls already planning to do that.
But why, why would they pick psychology as a major?
Who wouldn't want to nod and listen to someone babble for $75 per hourly session?!?
I don't dream often, but when I do, I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high and life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung, no wine untasted
But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they turn your hope apart
As they turn your dreams to shame
Spoiler: show
Ok kinda freaky cause this happened today and now i come across this thread. My aunt calls me this morning saying that she had a dream of my mother that took place in a picture i have (My mom in a white dress walking down stairs). In the dream my mother is walking down the stairs while my aunt is being bullied, so my mom says that she has to man up and stop letting people run over her, and that she is so happy that I started talking to my step father. Freaky thing about this last week i finally got in contact with my step father who i haven't spoken to in the 11 years, also weird because my aunt hasn't dreamt about my mother since she died which is 11 years ago. I asked my super christian step mom who says that the dead is dead they can't do anything, and my father said that it could be my aunt's sub conscious but i don't believe these at all !
What dreaming does is give us the fluidity to enter into other worlds by destroying our sense of knowing this world.
Good quote.
