Come on bro
Seriously, asserting that there is a single battle in FFXIII that is won or lost on luck, and not stategy, is stupid. Period.
If you prepare for the shit that is killing you, you don't need to get "lucky" and have it not use it. Why is this such a hard concept?
Actually, I will concede one point, and one point only of pure luck: final boss instant death move on your lead character. Shit's bullshit.
I've said it a thousand times already but I'll say it again, I fucking loved FFXIII. Everything about the game is amazing except the actual gameplay elements.
I loved everything about this new album except the music.
Almost every non-boss non-eidolon fight in the game can be won by opening with 2 turns of SAB SAB COM(or MED, or bufferguy) and switching to either RAV RAV COM or RAV COM MED and having a SEN MED MED ready for if shit hits the fan.
If you can lose a normal fight with any combination of the above paradigms you thoroughly impress me.
You can cheese your way straight through FF8 spamming limit breaks and FF12 spamming quickening chains. Neither of those involved being overleveled or glitching. If you happened to fuck up and die you could try that shit again and get away with it all the time (might not be possible on very late game in XII since I have not played that much, but I doubt it changes considering I beat some random optional summon that one shot my entire party with a quickening chain). You can't just say whether or not the dev intended to do that, hell, they DID intend for you to use quickening chains and if you don't have terrible reaction times it's very possible to one shot bosses for (at the very least) the entire first half of the game. Not to mention I'm sure the devs didn't intend for everyone to be retarded and do the same strategy over and over hoping it'll eventually work as opposed to actually... you know, changing strategy if you fuck up.
I think the issue with 13 is the fact that if you fuck up and die you can just jump straight back in to the same fight. If you die in any of the previous games you might be set back through running around or at the very least bullshit unskippable conversations/cutscenes, so most people aren't willing to just do dumb shit repeatedly. Yet in 13 everyone just did the same shit and if they died they did it again and again until they lucked out and it actually worked.
Yeah, obviously the devs intended for you to farm ethers (as they are not cheap enough to buy en masse early game) and chug them so you can spam quickenings.
Yep. And no, it's not possible to one shot bosses for half the game, that much I know for certain.
(not to mention the LP grinding you'd have to do just to actually HAVE quickenings early game... so yes, like every other game you can grind your way past bosses)
My main complaint storywise with XIII is the big lack of fal'Cie exposition. You only ever hear Cocoon's side of the story, and even then, it's from the whackjob Dysley.
This topic is now about what I think a bunch of guys in an office in Japan want me to do based on my opinion of what they considered, by using my logic not theirs, as right and wrong.
Man, it's getting late, that almost made sense.
rape obviously
perhaps some tentacles or bukkake
Somehow I'm glad im at the.... 20th save point still (which is like about 20 minutes into the game)
Why in the fuck would you ever cast Death on anything not a Adamantoise. Not to mention you get it right near the end of the game. Sure seems like a great idea.
Spoiler: show
No it was a statement because he is fucking retarded.
Then again he spent half the game bitching about constantly dying so that's a given.
No, you're being retarded.
