Sherlock I can deal with, cause at least there's catharsis when he foils the villain's plot, but the actual villains' insanity is fucking tiresome. I mean, ocassional psychopath/sociapath/serial killer is fine, but it's becoming a "monster of the week" kinda thing. I like that it's not a too politicized or propagandistic as some investigative shows, but I wouldn't mind seeing Sherlock taking on the big bad like terror organizations or corporate structures on occasion too.

This last episode actually had a pretty serious political slant too it, but most people outside of the UK wouldn't understand it. Smith was a very clear parallel to Jimmy Savile.

I actually did notice this. And then, somewhat amusingly, I listened to a 60s concert this morning that was hosted by Jimmy Savile.
