Is it really that annoying?
Is it really that annoying?
What annoys me is that people are still paying 30 bucks a mil. Somebody's got to be buying that shit if the price is still that high, and goddamn. What a dumbass that person must be.
Hey, that gear isn't gonna whitebox itself.
New RMT spammer: Inform on siren. they've also changed the site to www. ffxi - online .xxx
The name doesn't really matter, they will be banned within the day and reappear as a new account to spam the same shit. Honestly have to wonder how dumb people can be if they fall for this and if they do maybe the game is better off w/o em.
floodprot where?
I wonder how many hours SE put in to do "their fix" then the so many simpler and more effective ones they could have.
some options menu -> Allow tells from trial accounts yes/no?
Exception : if they are on your friendslist
Restriction : Trial accounts cannot initiate friend requests
Oh auspice, it was just me proclaiming what a sexy rdm you have and how i wanted to steal it. Oh and the fact that your name is a spell is pretty awesome too<3
Semi seriously though, it probably would cost se more to pay some coding grunt for two hours to remove trial accounts from the game than the money they spend paying some coding grunt to add new filters to the chat blocker. Basically nothing in either case. In any event its SEs accounts that they're stealing, not yours, so they can afford to let some accounts slip. Hey, they're offering you a free trial to continue playing again when your shits jacked, be happy.
the trial isn't even free, you need to buy vanadiel collection to get a code.
old trials are deactivated since a while.
Just a quick correction - sort of a pet peeve that came up in this thread.
I think some people in this thread are assuming that SE can identify a trial account from in-game. Obviously they have the info in their account management system, but I've never seen evidence that the game knows who is a trial and who is not.
We have seen SE implement measures that punish new players (gardening and fishing) and measures that punish low-level players (mining in Mt Zhayolm). These measures target trial accounts only indirectly.
They could indirectly target trial accounts for RMT spam too, so it makes little difference. I just wanted to mention this. Like I said, it's just a stupid pet peeve of mine.
Trial accounts are basically the only ones that won't have the major expansions these days, and the game can pretty easily establish whether or not those expansions are installed. Just checking for RoZ access would probably be a sufficient method. Still indirect, but if you're looking for a /tell limiter it should work fine.
That said,
floodprot where?
Does this shit really belong in the "Advanced"...
should have posted it in Standard obv.
