Failed Tatoos

A bunch of people I know went to Cancun for this past spring break and one of them ended up getting a tattoo of the kanji character "Power" on his right soldier. Except, it didn't say "Power" at all and it really meant "White Rice" or "Rice Field" or some stupid shit like that. He went back to the guy that gave it to him while they were still there and proceeded to get his ass whooped by some shady characters.

He eventually got it covered up with tribal crap. Moral of the story, don't get a tattoo while you're high as balls in the middle of Mexico of a character writing system you know nothing about.

Is he a general in the army or something? He should of stuck with White Rice, ballin' as hell yo.

This reminds me, I was looking for suggestions for my next back tat (will be straight down center, under my current one). Have a few ideas:

1. Hindu cosmology pic:

Flat earth held up by 4 elephants standing on a turtle. Would be pretty detailed/nice, and reflect my perspective on humanity and religion, without being too offensive. .

Any ideas, comments, suggestions?

This would be epic, and make any fan of Terry Pratchett proud.

I've never got that, don't you have your own culture to take from. Why imprint someone else's on you. if you want to say courage on your wrist, why not write courage and not squiggly slant squiggly

Sucks. I have Japanese kanji for 'Fight' and it literally means Gate, Rice, Farmer, suggesting that at one time there was a battle at a gate between farmers for rice or some shit. But yeah, that sucks for your friend haha

Appreciation of the artistic style of the language comes to mind. The same reason people get Latin script tattooed on them. It's not like he got a single character placed between his shoulder blades or on his ankle to be trendy.
