Building a PC, any help would be great

I've been browsing through some of the threads about building a pc here and decided to build one up myself. This is my first time building one and so far these are the items that I put together. These items are from Amazon because I live in california and i get taxed from newegg. My budget is $1000 and any suggestions/input/advice/improvements would be great.

    Samsung 1 TB Spinpoint 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.5 inch Bulk/OEM Desktop Hard Drive HD103SJ $70

Cooler Master CM 690 II Advance ATX Mid-Tower Case (RC-692-KKN2) $90

    XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB DDR5 PCIE Graphics Card HD577AZNFC $170

    CORSAIR XMS3 DHX 4GB ( 2 X 2GB ) PC3-10666 1333MHz 240-pin DDR3 CL9 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit - TW3X4G1333C9DHX $110

LG E2050T 20-Inch Slim LED Monitor (Glossy Black) $180

LG Electronics 24X SATA DVD+/-RW Internal Drive GH24NS50 (Black) $20

    AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2 GHz 4x512 KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor - Retail HDZ955WFGBMBOX $160

OCZ OCZ500MXSP ModXStream Pro 500 Watt Power Supply $60

    MSI 790GX-G65 SocketAM3/140W CPU/AMD 790GX CrossFire/4DDR3-1600(OC)/ATI CrossFireX/Radeon HD 3300/GbE/HDMI/DVI/VGA/R/A/1394/ATX Motherboard $125

    Total comes out to 985.

Also, I'm wondering if the PSU's power is enough to OC with a corsair H50. Thanks

I'd definitely go with a 600 or 650W if u plan to OC. What res are u playing at? If 1080P, u might want a stronger GPU.

5770 for $170 is a horrible deal. Let's see how you can do this.

Hmmm... it's 8% tax from Newegg isn't it? You could still do better with Newegg combos than Amazon I'm pretty sure.

This 25" 1080p monitor from TigerDirect for the same price you were going to pay for a 20". It's a great monitor, I bought the same one.

This MSI Cyclone GTX 460 from Amazon (shipped from TigerDirect though) for $234 including shipping.

Grab the same 1TB Spinpoint F3 that you were looking at on Amazon.

    $491 so far, before Newegg.

Wow, lol. Forgot the damn motherboard <_< Could probably do fine with the one you have in OP, if USB3 and Sata3 and x16/x16 Xfire aren't of huge concern. If they are, I'd get this Biostar 890FXE.

Should come out to like $1030-1050, and you'll get $35 back from Newegg rebates. Pretty substantial upgrades all around.
