iphone sync question

If I sync my iphone to an empty Outlook (say, to back up my contacts and such just in case), will it fill in Outlook with all the contacts from my phone, or will it delete all the contacts on my phone to match the empty Outlook?

Sync has always scared me for that reason.. I can never tell if its gonna delete everything, or add everything.

Could always have iTunes make a backup, and then test.

It'll fill in the Outlook with all the contacts from your phone. You can also select for it to sync with "Windows Contacts". Just make sure to click the "Merge Info" when you sync.

Windows' Contacts folder is locate in "C:\Users\(Username)\Contacts"
