Also when I first read Berserk, I thought the story was in the wrong order(the way it starts was weird - but hilarious), so I skipped until Gutts was a baby/the tree scene. I believe it is better reading it this way, since the end of the first arc gives away too much.

The lost chapter is pretty much the definition of giving away too much too soon. Of course, that only counts if it actually is still canon.

yeah me too. i skipped to the part where the corpse gave birth to gattsu, but the beginning had some important parts. that fetus you see was actually caska/gattsu's son that was fucked up from the raping of griffith, no? or was it just the offspring of griffith and caska? lol.

but i started watching the anime 1st. the way it ended left me so mad. i never had a series, animated or not leave me at such an emotional state. ya idc if it makes me look like a pussy lol, the creator painted a perfect picture in your brain about the white hawks and the adventures and totally took a shit on it and spun it a different direction in a crazy/depressed/amazing way

you got some good shit out there, but nothing can compete with the classics

edit: the music was pretty good too

they skipped a lot of stuff from the manga, but they at least kept with the storyline to some extent. i love the rivalry between gattsu and zodd, but they DID end up showing that in the off story in the dreamcast game too. even though that one was more like a random filler

There was supposed to be a second released in like 04ish and there was a controversy in who was going to sub it outside of japan and I haven't seen shit since.
