No way. Story has been on a straight progression, maybe with the exception of the recent "chapter" of the new arc. Hard to beat what just happened. Though the series main arcs have their own feel to them. ("Historical" Fantasy, Dark Fantasy, High Fantasy)

I agree with that (each arc has its own feel), but golden age was just strong throughout, and interesting. The others have had high and low points, but they don't feel as consistant.

Generally things got a lot better after Guts vs Zodd (snow, with all the swords - love that fight), with only a couple of the new characters actually being cool. I dunno, I miss the Band, and having Guts travelling with useless women and children is a downer.

Only two of the new group of characters are useless. In battle that is. They have their purposes.

Casca and Farnese? Yeah, Serpico is the only newcomer I like, the others, like the kid and the witch, while not useless in a fight, are just... not interesting at all (though the witch has better moments). Puck was the only comic relief that worked with serious guts, now there's 3. Just feels like Guts is running a daycare centre for kids and crazy people.

Compared to seeing the old Hawks interact, it just seems shallow.

Anyway, the last chapter I read was when the emperor of those weird people revealed his true form (fuck, I forgot most of their names). How far behind am I now?

Far enough behind that it's not a part of the current story, but not far enough behind that it would actually take a bit of time to catch up.

He made not ride a motorcycle, but Berserk does have Nosferatu Zodd. A bear/bull demon who can grow wings. Also his name is Nosferatu Zodd.

I like to think that during these breaks Muira is actually working on the manga months ahead so he can REALLY take a break while they are being printed. It would be nice if he did any interviews behind like 2003 or 2004.

ALSO, I really want to buy the Dark Horse volumes. The early ones at least. "Band of the Hawk" translation team really sucks("Evil Genius" is the other big one, is pretty good). I mean I don't lose track of the story or anything, but when I go back and read the chapters at around the "Birth Rite" chapter I see something very wrong. Let me post, probably, the worst example:

There won't be any Berserk at all this month, there is a very good chance there will be at least one episode in September. That's when the next volume comes out and they need one more chapter to fill it.

Also I like to pretend that Miura is actually working on the chapters instead of taking a break, so he can actually break while they are coming out.

i bet you anything caska wont be healed right away. it seems too convenient. as much as i would want her to, they've been hinting that she might not even want to over and over and OVERRRRRrrrrr. but elves becoming popstars have a more likely chance than seeing caska suddenly not a lesbo mentally disabled chick

Manga chapters are often called episodes, because arcs are called chapters... and he groups together chapters in larger arcs(e.g. The Millennium Falcon).
