Difficulty is something you select when you make the character; I think there's a new game + though, which might let you change difficulties.

You are able to password protect mp games, everytime you start the game/start playing you get 3 choices: offline/single player, lan, and internet/mp.

Thanks Jintu; I just started a Glaive Throw Outlander on elite. Will try to cruise through game once with the current OP build to wet my feet, then branch out to other jobs.

You can't change your default difficulty, if you start on elite, you're playing elite in ng+ at least. However, when creating a game in lan or internet mode, you can change the difficulty when creating the game. That being said, the final part of act 3 in elite was probably the most frustrating thing ever. Even with 400 resist all, I was still getting hit for 3k. Up until the alchemist, the game was relatively OK and scaled well, but once you hit that final part, the difficulty goes through the roof

Love this game so much; seriously more enjoyable than D3 to me. Perhaps because my expectations weren't sent to the moon by 10 years of waiting. I do hate the respawning adds for a lot of elites / bosses. Tried Mordox at level 8 on Elite; couldn't pull it off without taking forever and using a lot of potions. Issue was the constantly respawning Fire Skeles / Archer Skeles; just kept plucking at me while kiting around.

There's an account-wide stash, and a character-specific stash. It's in the first town, between the two vendors towards the N, NE side of town. Two chests.

Also, with % of Gold Found I assume that is gold and not items ?

Edit: Nevermind, got a Magic Finding item.

Which leads to another question, once an item is socketed. Can you get the socketed item back out?

What do you mean? Do you mean can you remove the gem you put in the socket to open it back up? Yes, you can. On the map it'll be a diamond above a dudes head that removes/destroys the gem from the item, and gives it back to you.

You can also do the opposite and destroy the item to salvage the gem. Guy should be right next to the item salvage dude.

I know this is a bit too late, but as long as you recall your pet before the timer comes up, it will return with all of your stuff still intact. Of course, that only helps if you notice before "Your pet has returned from town."

Any news on a mod whitelist from Runic or at least the Steam workshop? I found a nice map mod that zooms out further for my Cannoneer, but I don't want to mess around and get flagged for cheating.

What's the best option for playing support in multiplayer? My wife is pretty green when it comes to gaming, and I'd like to be able to let her take the lead and prop her up as much as I can.

I can't speak for most classes, but Engineer's healing robot is a fire-and-forget white mage that follows you around and doesn't get gibbed by monsters; I've kept it capped and haven't regretted it.
