True, but i don't think their english skills are the reason. I'm sure all the documentation has all been translated into japanese anyway.

It's the fact most of the JP plays on PS2 instead of PC.
JP market is really unique that they play everything on any game console but PC.
    no pc = no windower

I don't know why, but every time the windower/plugin issue comes up, there is always a specific group of people who become defensive when people say that it grants an advantage. An advantage is an advantage. It doesn't inherently mean something is better or worse. It doesn't mean it's an unfair advantage. Stop trying to make arguments for people and take their word as it comes, not how you want to interpret it.

This argument is bad and you all should feel bad. Watch the vid, say oh cool this can be soloed now and move the fuck on. Christ it really doesn't matter about any of this windower is cheating shit or not. I played with windower once and it helped my War far more than it helped my RDM. With DD's windower is fucking sweet, but with things like RDM you can easily do everything with or without windower so why the fuck does it matter?

Not really since I can easily swap all viable gear for almost any spell(besides Ni if I had more haste gear) because I am pretty fast with my macros but in a zerg fight with Warrior having really high haste needing to hit multiple macros to equip gear for WS then multiple to get all TP gear back on severely hurts my damage. It is really fucking nice though with RDM. Just doesn't really improve my job that much. Now if I had ever used that ja0wait or whatever then I know that windower would have helped my RDM a hell of a lot more than war.

In the aforementioned zerg situation it's quite likely you'd lose a hit or two if your macros are at all sluggish. Not huge, but it's there.

If you're comparing them in different scenarios I can see how spellcast is more convenient for WAR so long as Rog sticks to what he said earlier. That is, if spellcast only allows you to do things slightly faster, the biggest advantage comes when time between pressing a single macro (And waiting for it to respond; otherwise it skips lines) takes longest. In other words, when there is heavy lag.

I /tell him at one point when I saw him in Jeuno at the AH I think a year and a half ago or so, when his name was active on Shiva. It could have been some one else but he was really nice and polite. I was surprised he spoke English and this is why I was not sure if it was him.

Told whoever it was what I enjoyed his solo vids and he was very humble about his thank yous. Also he was always the one buying my more expensive mage foods from the AH.

Though I am certainly a noob and my opinion is thus tainted with noob's point of view on technique critique, I also enjoy Upbeatglitch's solos and also Kaoz's on you tube..

Not huge but in a lot of lag situations hitting three or 4 macros every few seconds to change gear kills my damage. Again it benefits more than it would my RDM.

I do wish I played on computer with windower and could use my freakin xbox controller because I hate keyboard too much to use that. BTW sch sucks.

THAT is why we use it, not because there is any real advantage. There is absolutely no difference whatsoever in hitting 2-4 macros vs one, since the second, third, etc will be hit while casting anyway, and as was already said, you can't perform multiple actions at once in ffxi, so all it does it give you slightly more time to sit around waiting for spells to finish. Although there is no real advantage, it certainly is more convenient (though not much more).

Oh, and it equips obis for you, since that's just so hard to do manually in the 4 seconds you have before a nuke finishes casting. And changing macros sets at night would just be impossible otherwise of course. It's not like we have /macro or anything.
Spellcast can run multi-line (unlimited) commands, Macros are limited to 6 lines.
Spellcast can work out what Elemental Spirit is strongest at the time of casting (day, weather) and change accordingly, Macros cannot.
Spellcast can work out the current day/time/moonphase etc, and determine the best spell/equip, Macros cannot
Spellcast can work out what buffs you do/do not have on, and change spells accordingly, Macros cannot.
Spellcast can determine the HP of your cure target, your own MP, MND values etc. and adjust your Cure spell accordingly, Macros cannot.
Spellcast can also work out what buffs you have on, and run countdown timers on multiple spells based on those buffs (Composure etc.) at the same time. Macros cannot.

Also, with Spellcast, to Cure5 someone outside the Party, you can type //Cure5 Themu and it will cast Cure5 on Themutznutz. Otherwise you have to type /ma "Cure V" <Themutznutz>
Want to cast Thunder2 on a mob, rather than your macroed Thunder3? //thunder2 t and away it goes. No more /ma "Thunder II" <t>

So Spellcast is a HUGE advantage. And yes, I use and abuse the hell out of Spellcast XML files.
    End of that debate.

    Back on topic.

Avesta is, and always has been, the "Solo King". Not because he does things others cannot, but because he actually does it rather than say "Well I could with his gear".
Other people have their own targets, be it gil, all jobs at 80, capped merits etc. Avesta's target is to solo the hardest, trickiest, most un-soloable mobs in the game.
The moment another 5 or more people go and solo Byakko, Genbu, Bune, and anything else Avesta has done solo, Avesta will no longer be the solo king, but until that point, Avesta has done what others choose not to/cannot do.

Mind explaining how any of those situational equip examples are things an active player can't do without Spellcast?
