Man, I'm listening to the tracks above yours on the list and I don't know how the top ones even got there, they're fucking terrible.

Nimrod & Jaffa mix has absolutely nothing going for it, there's no originality...it just sounds like a house cut of the original tune.

insomnia mix has a dirty drum machine that doesn't mix at all with the sharp tones of the original tune (though it has a pretty good bassline...the snare just wrecks the feel of it).

The Vijay Chawla mix is interesting but seems to lose its identity against the original, spends all its time paying attention to the first 30-45 sec of the original tune and never touches the rest of it. Not really a bad track, but when it's a remix contest...

I just listen to them and go at the fact that they've more than doubled the spins of the stuff below the top 5 and even have a 60 point gap between 4 and 6 when all the lower ones are only separated by single-to-dozen votes at a time.

Good thing it's not ultimately up to those people making the spins to decide the winner I guess. Good luck with the contest

yeah thanks guys. we're at an uneasy 8th place right now and it seems like the list keeps shifting upwards. we need to keep some momentum going or we're going to fall hard in the next 2-3 days.


the good news though norellicus, and it's still a wild card, is that there are 20 people going to the next phase of being judged by the original artist and the record label to become the ultimate winner. 10 tracks from user votes, and 10 tracks chosen by the beatport staff. SO *hopefully* by cracking that top 10 spot it gave us more play time for the beatport staff to vote us on their end. what sucks is no one knows who the beatport picks are until the day after the voting phase ends :/

The necessity of registration before even being able to spin is killing votes across the board, you can almost guarantee that; but I can understand the need for it since any other "one vote per person per song" tracking method is easily fooled.

thanks guys, and yeah it is killing it. A lot of friends thought by just clicking Play it counted as a vote so now I'm going back and double checking, walking most people through the registration and voting process... doin some work here lol.

But that said that even makes it more suspicious for some of these guys with high ratio's or like Kiara said negative ratios. I really effin hope these guys get disqualified....
