ur right, i am wasting my time arguing something i know to be fact lol. time will show it though. regaurdless im just sharing what ive experienced in hopes it helps figure out the weakness thing even more.

Does the spell have to land to proc?

Dunno bout others, but ive had what apeared to be dispel trigger !!! on rapter NM in abyMis. as I mentioned before, I dont think there is anything to dispel on him, Im not 100% though.

While in general the log can't be trusted, I do notice that the "xxx readies Weapon Skill" is usualli right on target. When a mob becomes staggered it will always immediately follow the "readies" log message. (This is based on about ~30 Red + Blue triggers I looked up in my log.)

Masa, by any chance can you post a log except so we can all try to interpret what happened? While I don't doubt you, I am skeptical for obvious reasons~

Unfortunately, i don't have log screenshoted.... thought about posting here only after delogged... But i asked for confirmation other LS members and all said :
- the staggering message occured right after DRG's WS and his wyvern's breath, on their log.
- DRG said i was actually wrong on WS he used LegSweep since he was trying to help our sam tanking with stunning WS.
- they confirmed it was indeed Flame Breath (and not another thing).
- the "!!" was red.
- the SAM said also he used Tachi: Kagero before the DRG WSd, and i remember indeed a Fusion occuring on my log but AFTER the staggering message. (that's why i didnot pay attention to that)

So if there were indeed some lag and staggering message "should" have appeared before the wyvern's breath (then LegSweep would be a candidate for eleWSs ? i doubt), or it was Tachi: Kagero (but i doubt since i never got lag to the point ffXXI would display a message with 10+secs delay), which leaves the Flame Breath...

Also anyone even bothered to try triggering with Sanguine Blade, Burning Blade, Thunder Thrust, Blade: Yu, etc... ie other elemental WSs yielding Amber Light ?

The lower tier ws(burning blade, thunder thrust) have been tried many times, they don't seem to proc.. though the higher tier equivalent(red lotus, raiden) do. The level 80 WS were tested in visions areas and didn't proc, though it would make sense they might in scars areas.

Also anyone even bothered to try triggering with Sanguine Blade, Burning Blade, Thunder Thrust, Blade: Yu, etc... ie other elemental WSs yielding Amber Light ?

When the working 13 fail to work, then other WS's will be tested...only problem is a huge sample size states that the 13 WS's are the only ones that proc it.

Someone posted a very strong counter-example to the day element before/same/after theory for eleWSs/Spells on wiki:
popped Durinn @ Fireday and triggered BOTH Red & Grellow "!!" on same pop with Earth based eleWS and spell (Earthcrusher and Stone4).

Makes me wonder if those triggers are actually related to the element of the NM itself (Durinn using thunder based spells/TPmoves) instead of day elements ? Might be interesting to explore this path ?

EDIT: nvm this testimonial is missing an important information: when did they actually triggered those 2 "!!"? i mean NM might have been poped on fireday like specified, but "!!" triggered on NEXT DAY ie Earthday ??? NM maybe popped @ end of fireday ?

And...how does this act to debunk the working model of day before/of/after? Unless your Vanadiel works differently, Earthsday comes after Firesday. It has NOTHING to do with elemental correlation.

Not a direct answer but somewhat related, I've had a blue !! proc from a WS that never went off. Blm pulled hate, the mob ran out of range and the WS never fired but TP was lost and it still showed !!

Went to tahrongi with nin blm bard and several others from lightsay through earthsday and we only proc'd green !! on corse. We each went through all applicable three day spells multiple times on probably eight other NMs without ever triggering !!

Is the three day theory only for scars zones?

No, 3 days theory matches the vast majority of the posts in this thread, many of which are from the past zones. You know that it's impossible to proc !!s if the monster is casting or readying a TP move, right? If you're doing something with a large group (or really meleeing it at all) it becomes harder to land spells just because the monsters TP so much.

I don't believe so. I've triggered a !! on Cirein-Croin (popped Fireday) with Sleep II, which obviously didn't land. At least I'm pretty sure it was Sleep II, there were spells going off all over the place, but the log showed stagger the instant my spellcasting animation went off.

Yes I know it won't proc during ws or spell cast. We recasted several of the spells three times to be sure it was not because the mob was not animation locked. Too bad these NMs die so easy from a few blms going through all the nukes for an element or we could have tried more elements.

Had flare proc on chasm cock last night. Was the last spell I had left to try and brought it down to 2%. :D

Tier 5s have been reported to Proc. First report was Stone V by a PUP soloing Keesha, so it's fairly unambiguous.

Ooooo i think i realized my misunderstanding.... i was thinking in the way of elementalwheel, ie fire strong against ice, but weak against water (so water, fire and ice eleWSs/spells to try but he triggered with earth stuff :s) instead of Days of the week order... My bad, thanks for the correction Nynja.
