That's just hilariously sad if true. And it'd have to be time of claim, really, unless it just locks it to that WS once something's triggered.

So if you want a drop, you should fight NMs at night using a monk that bothered to skill Club and Staff? That's the only "one job can cover all bases" option that I see.
I actually know a Monk or two that would love to go Full Swing some crap, so they might be happy about this news.
With the skill levels raised at 85, can NIN now use Y/G/K?
Edit: guess not.
Is that list complete like the 13 ele ws list?
Well, there is one thing that stood out, presuming this is true:
06:00-14:00 = dagger, polearm, bow, marksmanship = piercing
14:00-22:00 = axe, GAX, sword, scythe, katana, GKT = slashing
22:00-06:00 = H2H, club, staff = blunt
While it's easy enough to see the pattern they were going for or based their data (?) on, it's also not a full list of ws that can proc. As i've reported before, I've had spinning attack proc blue (where I was the only melee on the mob and there is 0% chance any other ws went off or anyone was nearby). So the question would be, assuming that's actually correct, how low down the list (skill or level wise) can a ws trigger blue?
Mictcorse in Tahrongi:
Red Trigger on Earth Crusher (Detonation/Impaction)
Blue Trigger on Shell Crusher (Detonation)
Both performed by the same Monk.
Got atma, Serpentes cuffs, two habits, and an angelstone. Still no nodowa.
Thought it was unusual that we'd get two weakness proc on the same mob, well within the same Vana'diel day, using the same weapon with similar skillchain properties. Was Darksday, Last Quarter Moon (60%).
EDIT: The corse also popped sometime at the beginning of Darksday. I suppose the Shell Crusher trigger matches the time in the chart above.

Check the edit. I'm more than sure we didn't actually proc the weaknesses within the time window though, as it we were playing with it for quite a while trying to find different weaknesses. After we proc'd Blue, we went for a quick kill and it died between 11-12 Darksday according to my screenshot. That would suggest that the time of pop determines the Blue time weakness trigger.
I'm also pretty sure about the pop time, we were camping/killing it last night.
Here's some logs from 10/14/2010 around 2am EST (just turned to Oct.14th from the 13th)
Using the converter at www.lmxvii.net/timecalc this puts it at Darksday: 1108-10-26 18:12:55 in game. It was also claimed during the 14:00-22:00 window.Code:[02:07:38]Kilik starts casting Utsusemi: Ni on Kilik. [02:07:39]Mictlantecuhtli casts Drain. [02:07:39]214 HP drained from Kilik. [02:07:42]1 of Kilik's shadows absorbs the damage and disappears. [02:07:43]Kilik readies Tachi: Kasha. [02:07:43]Your attack staggers the fiend! [02:07:43]The fiend is unable to use special attacks. The following logs of Sedna fights are from 9/30/2010.
This converts to Darksday: 1107-11-28 08:06:15 which is outside the 22:00-6:00.Code:[22:50:37]Sedna uses Aqua Blast. [22:50:37]Nagamaki takes 293 points of damage. This is when that Sedna was popped. This converts to Darksday: 1107-11-28 06:29:10 which is also outside the 22:00-6:00.Code:[22:46:46](Draac) inc
Not sure what else to look for as far as time goes since this is a force pop mob.
It's outside the window, but also pretty close... Any chance the theory is correct, and just that we have the (slightly) wrong times?
Howling fist's SC elements are Transfixion/Impaction, which seems to tie more to day of the week >.>
I'd disregard the Mict log since theres no telling when it popped.
Perhaps load up the Kirschy signal? She keeps a bunch of logs.
I found a cool program that can check every file in a directory for a certain string.
http://www.baremetalsoft.com/baregrep/index.php
So I used this to lookup blue !! to verify the theory/time posted.
Then I used the time calculator I made @ http://www.lmxvii.net/timecalc

Well... that's some pretty damn good evidence.
Wonder if radar programs can be updated to reveal how long a mob has been up...
Could you post which mobs these are? Still have to determine if its based on pop or on claim for blue.
If it's by time claimed, they could of spent a while trying to get the weakness..
edited with mob names above
On one of our Sedna's we had Asuran Fists trigger Blue at Lightsday: 1107-11-27 03:18:45 and Tachi: Koki trigger Red at Lightsday 1107-11-27 11:28:45. Asuran is Gravitation/Liquefaction and Koki is Reverberation/Impaction. If you go by the SC elements wouldnt that cover Dark, Earth, Fire, Water, and Thunder elements?
Went through logs, all fit the proposed theory from JPButton(granted I only had 6).
